A Tumor is an abnormal growth of body tissue and Tumors can either be cancerous (malignant) or noncancerous (benign). In general, Tumors occur when cells divide and grow excessively in the body. If the balance of cell growth and death is distributed, a tumor may form. Tumors cause due to problems with the body’s immune system, drinking too much alcohol, smoking, obesity, radiation exposure and genetic problems. Some of the common signs of Tumors include night sweats, loss of appetite, fatigue, fever, chills and many more.
HOW IS TUMORS DIAGNOSED?
Diagnosis of tumours are done by general physicians who would check these symptoms and also do scans and X-rays. Biopsy is done to check for malignancy.
HOW IS TUMORS TREATED?
The treatment for these tumours depends on the kind of tumour one has. Some benign ones go away on their own, especially if they are small in size. The others require surgical procedures and radiation and chemotherapy to if they are cancerous.
