Eye redness occurs when the vessels in the eye become swollen or irritated. Redness of the eye, also called bloodshot eyes, can indicate the presence of several different health problems. While some of these problems are benign, others are serious and require emergency medical attention. The redness of the eye may be a cause for concern. However, most serious eye problems happen when the redness is along with pain or changes in the vision.

An ophthalmologist would examine your eye and determine the cause of the redness based on your symptoms.
HOW IS RED EYES TREATED?
Treatment is given as per the problem. If a lens has led to some kind of irritation you may be advised to wear glasses for a few days. Alongside, antibiotic drops are provided to control the infection and treat the same. Avoiding sunlight and decreasing eye stress is also suggested.
