This is an extremely painful ear infection that can be found in children. It also leads to inflammation. The main symptoms of this condition include incessant crying, irritation, sleep deprivation, a pulling sensation on the ears, headaches, pain in the neck area, a feeling of fluid fullness in the ear, and fluid drainage from the ear as well.
HOW IS OTITIS MEDIA DIAGNOSED?
Diagnosis is done by an ENT who would examine the ear and also do a culture test of the pus if needed. An otoscope is used for testing the same.
HOW IS OTITIS MEDIA TREATED?
Considering this disease is caused because of bacteria, the most common treatment form here is also antibiotics. Such individuals have to be given high doses of antibiotics and also need to wear the Tympanostomy tube if there are recurrences of the infection.
