Myasthenia Gravis is a condition that causes progressive muscle weakness in the skeletal muscles. It is a neuromuscular disorder and occurs when the communication between the nerve cells and the muscles gets impaired. • Pulmonary function tests
• Edrophonium test to see if this medicine reverses the symptoms for a short time
HOW IS MYASTHENIA GRAVIS TREATED?
The focus of the treatment is better management of the symptoms. Corticosteroids and immunosuppressants are prescribed to reduce abnormal immune response that happens in the condition. Intravenous immune globulin is administered. Thymus gland removal may be an option in some case.
