The genetic disorder that causes blisters to form on the skin is known as Hailey-Hailey Disease. The rashes and blisters would not only form in the folds of the skin but also over other larger areas of the body. The blisters could break and become infected.
HOW IS HAILEY-HAILEY DISEASE DIAGNOSED?
Diagnosis involves conducting a biopsy of the affected part of the skin. The biopsy may reveal abnormal formation of the keratin tissue. Blood tests alone will fail to detect antibodies.
HOW IS HAILEY-HAILEY DISEASE TREATED?
There are a range of medications available to treat and check this problem. Usually light or weak kinds of corticosteroid are used for preventing or stopping the thinning of the skin. Along with this, a range of antibiotics, antifungals and corticosteroids, dapsone and methotrexate are used for controlling Hailey–Hailey disease.
