HOW IS THYROID CANCER DIAGNOSED?
The health care practitioner will examine the neck and ask about any other symptoms such as unexplained hoarseness. A blood test known as a thyroid function test is used to check the levels of thyroid hormones in the blood. An ultrasound scan of your neck can be used to check for a lump in your thyroid that could be caused by cancer. Biopsy, CT scan and MRI are other tests which may be recommended by the doctor.

Treatment options depend on the type and stage of thyroid cancer and overall health.Most people with thyroid cancer undergo surgery to remove all or most of the thyroid (thyroidectomy) and lymph nodes of the neck.In addition, Thyroid hormone therapy ,Radioactive iodine therpay, External radiation therapy,Chemotherapy and Targeted drug therapy arealso recommended
