It is a red, itchy rash on the skin, most commonly in the folds of the skin. The main symptom is a rash. The rash often causes redness and intense itching. In some cases, the infection can cause the skin to become cracked and sore. Blisters and pustules may also occur.
HOW IS CANDIDIASIS DIAGNOSED?
A General Physician may first examine the appearance and location of the rash. A skin culture may be ordered for confirming diagnosis of candidiasis. Skin culture test is a microscopic examination of a swab of the affected skin.
HOW IS CANDIDIASIS TREATED?
Home remedies are very effective in treating candidiasis. Proper hygiene and regular washing of skin helps in keeping infections away. Maintaining normal blood sugar levels is also effective in relieving symptoms of candidiasis. For severe infections, antifungal powders or creams may be used.
