There are different kinds of problems that affect the retina of the eyes, ranging from detachment to external damage. It is this set of issues that is collectively referred to as Retinal Problems. Here the symptoms tend to vary from vision issues, blurriness, floating eyes, problems with seeing at particular angles, inflammation and bleeding may also happen.
HOW IS RETINAL PROBLEMS DIAGNOSED?
Ophthalmologist conducts a thorough eye exam and looks for abnormalities anywhere in the eye. The following tests may be done to determine the location and extent of the disease:
Amsler grid test.
Optical coherence tomography (OCT).
Indocyanine green angiography
CT and MRI.
HOW IS RETINAL PROBLEMS TREATED?
Surgery is the most common treatment for retinal problems.Focal laser photocoagulation can repair a retinal tear or hole. Scatter laser photocoagulation is used to shrink abnormal new blood vessels which are bleeding or threatening to bleed into the vitreous.Cryopexy in which a freezing probe to the external wall of the eye to treat a retinal tear.
