Best Ayurvedic Tips for Weight Loss
Best Ayurvedic Tips for Weight Loss

Obesity is one of the most dreaded lifestyle ailments today and is spreading like an epidemic all across the world. Owing to slavery to the taste buds and lethargic living conditions, being obese and overweight is affecting all age groups and either sex. The main problem with weight gain is that, not only does it affect the confidence and mental stability of the obese person (making him easy target to mockery), overweight and obesity lays foundation of many other serious diseases. No doubt, weight loss is much sought after by one and all.
Weight loss in ayurvedic dosha types

According to Ayurveda philosophy, Kapha type of individual (having more of water and earth in their constitution) is more likely to gain weight easily. Although, the Vata types having more of air and ether, would generally be skinny and devoid of much fat. The fire types or Pitta dosha personalities who are generally gifted with proportional body weight, could be gaining weight just in case they lose their balance.

In the case of weight gain or obesity, it is believed that the Kapha dosha gets accumulated which further slows down the fat metabolism and leads to the disease of obesity. Therefore, Ayurveda believes that of the three basic dosha types, those people who have more of Kapha dosha in their system generally have a low Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and gain weight easily. Thus, for weight loss, the Kapha types need to be more strict and careful with themselves both in the terms of diet intake and undertaking exercise routine.

Please do treadmill for at least 60 minutes daily. Keep moving as much as you can whenever you can. Keep meal portions small especially if they’re cooked. Limit your food intake which SHOULD be and ONLY be 4 times a day. Avoid sedentary life/night watching/junk foods.

1) A healthy and well balanced diet having regular meals. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. 500 extra calories a day = 1 extra pound gained per week. 2) Eat a lot of good things –eat healthy calories that are loaded with good protein, good carbs, and healthy fat. Consuming more fruits and vegetables can make the body fit and healthy. 3) Have 8-9 hours of sleep every night for maximum

What exercises should I do to get fat on body and build muscles and improve the personalty?
You can do weight training to build muscle mass. There are different exercise regimens but the preferred ones focus on training large muscle groups (e. G. Chest, back, thighs, and butt) and doing full-body exercises such as push-ups, squats, pull-ups, rows, etc.

The nutritional recommendations for weight control include the following: - Emphasize weight control by exercising daily and not taking in too many calories. - The bulk of your diet should consist of healthy fats (liquid vegetable oils such as olive, soy, mustard, sunflower, and peanut) and healthy carbohydrates (fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain foods such as whole-wheat bread, oatmeal, and brown rice, sweet potatoes etc. - If both the fats and carbohydrates in your diet are healthy, you probably do not have to worry much about the percentages of total calories coming from each. - Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits (six to eight servings per day). - Eat moderate amounts of healthy sources of protein (nuts, legumes, fish, poultry, and eggs). - Limit dairy consumption—other than nonfat dairy products—to one to two servings a day. - Minimize the consumption of red meat, butter, refined grains (including white bread, white rice, and white pasta), potatoes, and sugar. In addition, I am giving you some key principles for fat loss that you should keep in mind: - Stress fat loss. Rapid weight loss from fad diets usually causes loss of muscle mass and water. Therefore, fat loss rather than weight loss should be the goal. Radical diets cause more than fat loss: you lose muscle and water too. Do not follow such diets. - Lose weight slowly. Lose no more than one kilogram (2.2 pounds) per week. More rapid weight loss results in the loss of muscle tissue. If you sustain a mild caloric deficit, you will lose fat. You lose little muscle or water this way. The weight stays off better. When you lose muscle, your body’s metabolism slows. This reduces your need for food. When you go back on your normal diet, you gain weight rapidly because you no longer need as much food as before. - Stress a balanced diet. The diet should be relatively high in complex carbohydrates and low in fat. Create a caloric deficit by combining caloric restriction with more exercise. Take in enough protein to help control appetite and maintain your muscles’ needs. For active people, this is approximately 0.8 to 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight a day. You will lose muscle if you cut your calorie intake by too much, regardless of how much protein you take in. - Exercise is critical. It is recommended that you exercise moderately for one hour a day. For the average person, the best exercises for losing weight include running, walking, and cycling. Your metabolism increases both during and after exercise, which causes you to burn calories at a faster rate all day long. Also, exercise helps maintain muscle mass, which is crucial for maintaining metabolic rate. If you can maintain your muscle mass during weight loss, you will be much more likely to maintain your new weight. Incorporate both High intensity weight training as well as Long endurance training in your fitness program. As both types of exercise are beneficial for weight control. - Avoid weight-loss supplements. The grocery and drugstore shelves are full of weight-loss products. Research has shown that these over-the-counter drugs are largely ineffective and have several side effects, such as abnormal heart rhythms and insomnia. The best advice is to stay away from drugs that promise to help you lose weight. They probably do not work. If they do, they may damage your health. Hope this helps. wish your a leaner and healthier body.

Hi 1. Eating 5 to 6 meals a day in order to gain weight, start eating 5-6 meals a day by breaking them into parts. Eating a lot at once may cause indigestion if the body fails to absorb all nutrients. Eat in small amounts, even if you are not hungry and there will be an increase in appetite from day to day. The aim should be to have a generously portioned breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as two to three snacks in between. 2. Start weight training if you build your muscles through weight training, it will convert the extra weight into lean body mass and also stimulate your appetite. The extra muscle increases the rate of metabolism. When you start exercising you will often experience extreme muscle soreness but it goes away in 3-5 days. 3. Load up on protein besides weight training, a protein-rich diet can help you gain mass. Eating a meal heavy in protein shortly after finishing exercise can be highly effective in adding extra pounds to your body. However, a diet focused only on lean protein is not helpful. It is important to make sure that your diet has plenty of fat in it. Eat foods rich in protein like cheese, meat, eggs, etc to gain weight in a healthy manner. 4. Workout your entire body a lot of people focus only on training the muscles on their arms, chest and shoulders and this is a grave error. Firstly, it will give you a disproportionate body; and it will make you prone to injuries. Therefore, it's important to work out the entire body for a complete and balanced look. 5. Drink your calories to reach the calorie requirement only by eating may be tough. Drinking milk, milkshakes or protein shakes with little or no sugar can be an effective way to load up on the calorie requirements. 6. Be patient and believe in yourself gaining weight quickly in a healthy manner is unrealistic. Every body type is different and it takes months to gain weight. Living healthy by eating the right diet will increase your strength. It is also important to keep following the routine even if you don't see any gains. Caution: junk food and fried foods must be avoided; although have a tendency to add more fat to your body but are very low in vitamins and minerals which are essentially required to keep you really fit. Related tip: the most powerful way to put on weight - snacking right.

Older people ‘should exercise to build muscle even into their 80s’

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Older people ‘should exercise to build muscle even into their 80s’

Older people should exercise to build their muscles even into their eighties, according to a review which suggests it will help them with everyday tasks.

Climbing the stairs, housework, walking and even washing was made easier if elderly people worked out 2 or 3 times a week, said Chiung–ju Liu of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Indiana University.

People lose muscle as they age, which can make daily chores more difficult. Working out by using small weights or elastic bands can help to rebuild these muscles.

By "walking well", however, you power yourself around all day using muscles in your bottom, midriff and the backs of your thighs. This brings dramatic, sustainable results.

Hello doctor iam 26 year male. Skinny I want to improve my weight and body what I suppose to eat/ do.
Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. Dietitian/Nutritionist, Panchkula
I am a runner who runs regularly 5-10 km every alternate day and preparing for 21 km which I will do in a months time...
A balanced diet is one that gives your body the nutrients it needs to function correctly. In order to get the proper nutrition from your diet, you should obtain the majority of your daily calories from: fresh fruits fresh vegetables whole grains legumes nuts lean proteins ADVERTISEMENT CALORIES What Are Calories? The number of calories in a food is a measurement of the amount of energy stored in that food. Your body uses calories from food for walking, thinking, breathing, and other important functions. The average person needs to eat about 2,000 calories every day to maintain their weight. However, a person’s specific daily calorie intake can vary depending on their age, gender, and physical activity level. Men generally need more calories than women, and people who exercise need more calories than people who don’t. The following examples of daily calorie intake are based on United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines: children ages 2 to 8: 1,000 to 1,400 calories active women ages 14 to 30: 2,400 calories sedentary women ages 14 to 30: 1,800 to 2,000 calories active men ages 14 to 30: 2,800 to 3,000 calories sedentary men ages 14 to 30: 2,000 to 2,600 calories active men and women over 30: 2,200 to 3,000 calories sedentary men and women over 30: 1,800 to 2,200 calories The source of your daily calories is just as important as the number of calories you consume. You should limit your consumption of “empty calories,” or those that provide little or no nutritional value. The USDA defines empty calories as calories that come from sugars and solid fats, such as butter and shortening. According to the USDA, Americans consume empty calories most often in: bacon sausages cakes cheese cookies doughnuts energy drinks fruit drinks ice cream pizza sports drinks and sodas IMPORTANCE Why a Balanced Diet Is Important A balanced diet is important because your organs and tissues need proper nutrition to work effectively. Without good nutrition, your body is more prone to disease, infection, fatigue, and poor performance. Children with a poor diet run the risk of growth and developmental problems and poor academic performance. Bad eating habits can persist for the rest of their lives. Rising levels of obesity and diabetes in America are prime examples of the effects of a poor diet and a lack of exercise. The USDA reports that four of the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States are directly influenced by diet. These are: heart disease cancer stroke diabetes ADVERTISEMENT ACHIEVING A BALANCED DIET How to Achieve a Balanced Diet At the core of a balanced diet are foods that are low in unnecessary fats and sugars but high in vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. The following food groups are essential parts of a balanced diet. Fruits Besides being a great source of nutrition, fruits make tasty snacks. Choose fruits that are in season in your area. They’re fresher and provide the most nutrients. Vegetables Vegetables are primary sources of essential vitamins and minerals. Dark, leafy greens generally contain the most nutrition and can be eaten at every meal. A variety of vegetables will help you obtain the bountiful nutrients that all vegetables provide. Examples of dark leafy greens include: spinach kale green beans broccoli collard greens Swiss chard Grains According to the USDA, Americans consume refined white flour more than any other grain. Unfortunately, refined white flour contains poor nutritional value because the hull of the grain is removed during the refining process. The hull is the outer shell of the grain and is where the majority of the grain’s nutrition lies. Whole grains, however, are prepared using the entire grain, including the hull, so they provide much more nutrition. Try switching from white breads and pastas to whole-grain products. Proteins Meats and beans are primary sources of protein, which is essential for proper muscle and brain development. Lean, low-fat meats such as chic.
