Tips To Overcome Sugar Addiction

You can be very much addicted to having sugar that many a times you might find it difficult to cut down on the amount of your intake. You might find it impossible to stop eating sugar. You might crave to have anything which has a lot of sugar in it.

Why is it bad?

Sugar is a fattening compound as it contains fructose. Sugar causes you to overeat, which in turn causes weight gain. It can bring anatomical changes in the brain, which gets you into an addiction. Sugar addiction is just like any other addiction, like that with nicotine or any other drugs. The only difference is the substance being used. Sugar can mess with the chemical balance of the brain to make you crave for it more.

How to overcome it?

To overcome sugar addiction, here are a few steps you can take:

  1. Observe yourself: This is the first step you should take. Observe what you eat, how much of sugar it contains. Take a note of how you feel after having sugar or something, which is laden with sugar. Keep a diary entry of whatever you observe about yourself and your sugar consumption.
  2. Practice self care: It is extremely difficult for any sugar addict to transition into a diet without any sugar or low sugar content. You will have to take it slow and add regular practice of self care. Do not avoid breakfast every morning. Remember to add in the required amount of fats and proteins (learn more about the Importance of Protein). Do not skip out on meals. Drink a lot of water and fluids like fresh fruit juice and sleep for at least 7 hours or more so that you get proper rest.
  3. Be honest with yourself: If you are trying to get rid of the sugar addiction, you have to be extremely honest without yourself. If you succumb to temptation and end up eating a few too many candies, then be honest with yourself and admit it. Make it a point to overcome the temptation the next time.

I am 32 year old and my nose remains close always if I don't take otrivin nasal spray after few hours and even I can't take any thin cold like ice cream, cold water, cold drink or any cold thing. As I consume cold thing my nose blocks and start watering please advice.

This condition is called rhinititis medicamentosa, is dangerous. As over use of otrivin causes high blood pressure. You should immediately stop otrivin and see ent doctor.

Did chinese dish momos then is it harmful for a gym person whether it is male or female.
The overall calorie count is not too bad – 35 calories per momo – as long as you don’t go wild with your quantities, and if you don’t have any heavy side dishes in the meal. Usually we just have a salad or brussels sprouts with our momos. But the truth is that we regularly eat about 10 momos at a sitting. You get full quite a while before that, but there’re just so dang good that it’s hard to stop. Some people eat a lot more than that. It isn’t unheard of to eat 20 or more, and of course some perhaps more civilized or restrained people eat less ;-) But for us, a standard serving is about 10 momos. Also, you need to take into account any pickles or hot sauce (sepen) or soy sauce you eat with your momos, and this had some surprising and disturbing values. The carbs and fat are okay for the amount of dipping sauce you would have for a meal of momos, but we were shocked to see that the sodium count was sky high! There’s the same amount of sodium in just a bit of dipping sauce as for 10 momos! We may have to rethink the Patak’s and soy sauce, though we love them so much! Or only eat the hot sauce we make ourselves, which will be MUCH lower in sodium.

Soak soybeans in 2-3 cups of water overnight. Discard water and rinse soybeans. Remove skins as best you can. Add soybeans and 4 cups water to blender. Blend until smooth. Strain the blended mixture using butter muslin or a nut milk bag. ... Heat the strained milk in a heavy-bottom pan to 180ºF (82ºC)

Dear lybrateuser, - Avoid cookies, biscuits & other bakery items as they contain trans fats& some quantity of sugars - you can have healthy carbs as in whole grains, can have whole wheat or multi grain roti & paratha, beans, sprouts, nuts, legumes, salads, yogurt, fruits such as berries, apples, pear, olives, citrus fruits, wholegrain/multi grain crackers - depending on ones blood sugar level one can consume sugar, at your age not more than a teaspoonful if your blood sugar is under control.

Do steam inhalation and warm saline gurgling 2-3 times daily.Take Benadryl CR syrup 2 tsf thrice daily.if no relief you have to take antibiotic and do blood test and take x ray chest after consulting doctor

Make sure to take in some food within 30 minutes of your workout, That will optimize recovery, help reduce muscle soreness. Your body looks for carbohydrates and protein to help replenish glycogen stores and rebuild muscle, Some options: a scoop of whey protein powder mixed with water/ boiled egg whites (do not consume whole egg)/2 sp of protinex with nonfat milk, and 2 to 3 banana. If you talking about dinner, whole eggs contain 5 to 7 gm of saturated fat the overall limit of saturated fat is 15 to 20gm. You can take 1 whole egg at dinner. Make sure you are in limit of saturated fat. Then it will not affect you. I recommended to lower your saturated fat as low as possible.

Avoid allergens eg smoke , dust etc if allergic. Antihistamines might be helpful. If nasal block take steam inhalation and nasal drops . Hope this helps u
