Any kind of anxiety and stress can cause palpitation. This is the most common cause .if you have any other health issue then we need to think in broader light otherwise don't worry.

I am 47 and have high bp since 10 years. Weight is 80 kg height 5' 5.5" Had been taking losar and since 2 years have been taking Metosartan 50 once a day. I also have high sugar and take Glycomet 850 once a day. I walk on treadmill thrice a week. I would like to gradually cut down on these medications and go with safer and natural options from Ayurveda. Is it possible.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given. There is no mention of either BP readings or blood glucose readings & HbA1c%, hence, I have no way to know whether you are in control or not. Secondly with a BMI of 28.98 kgs/M 2 you are close to be in grade 1 obesity. Your ideal weight should be around 65 kgs, which means there is an extra 15 kg load. Doing weekly three times walking on treadmill (distance & time not mentioned) is too insufficient. Plus if one has confirmed diabetes & high BP then, there is always a need for taking appropriate modern medications. Metformin is in use for over 60 years, and is found to be one of the safest drugs. Similarly majority of antihypertensive drugs are very safe. As regards "Ayurvedic" drugs, safety is a big question mark as some of those medications contain heavy metals, which can lead to serious side effects. Well choice is yours, in terms of selecting the type of therapy. To be in good control means fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8 and BP should be 120 to 130/ 70 to 80 mm Hg. Thanks.

Ayurvedic Treatment To Control Heart Blockage & Blood Pressure!

Are you looking for effective and natural ways to prevent heart blockage and blood pressure management? You should consider taking Ayurvedic measures, which have been proven to be quite effective in dealing with various issues of the heart. Usually, heart blockages are difficult to deal with and a surgery has to be carried out for recovery. With Ayurvedic remedies, you can solve such issues without the concern of harmful side effects on your body.

Ayurvedic management of heart blockage
For effective prevention and management of heart blockages, you need to create a certain Ayurvedic medicine using basic ingredients.

  1. Mix lemon, ginger, apple vinegar and garlic together and boil on a light flame.
  2. After the quantity gets reduced, leave the mixture to cool.
  3. After this, add some honey in the solution, and store it in a bottle for use. You have to take this medicine every morning after waking up.
  4. Note all the ingredients are chosen for their unique and beneficial features.
  5. Lemon contains more than 19 qualities, and garlic and ginger are good for dealing with gastric issues. Apple cider vinegar is given great importance in Ayurveda, and honey is good for your blood. Hence, this medicine is ideal for treating heart blockages effectively.

Ayurvedic management of blood pressure
High blood pressure or Rakta Gata Vata refers to an elevation in the pressure of blood in your arteries. The increase in pressure is based upon your age, activities, diet, and medical history.

The Ayurvedic remedies for the prevention and control of blood pressure include the following:

  1. Avoid consuming eggs, meat, tea, coffee, pickles and table salt.
  2. Abstain from smoking.
  3. Increase your intake of food items such as lemon, garlic, parsley, grapefruit, cottage cheese, Indian gooseberry, and watermelon.
  4. Engage in regular exercise as it is important for lowering and preventing your chances of high blood pressure.
  5. Laugh a lot and keep away from anxiety and stress factors.
  6. Make a juice of garlic cloves, wheat grass and basil leaves. Have this regularly for reduced chances of high blood pressure.
  7. Mix onion juice with honey and have the mixture every day.
  8. Make a paste using garlic and buttermilk, and drink it regularly.
  9. Grind roasted watermelon seeds, add water to the powder, strain the liquid, and have it twice every day.

It is important for you to visit an Ayurvedic practitioner before starting to take Ayurvedic measures for heart blockage or high blood pressure on your own. This will ensure that you are prescribed the best measures by a qualified and experienced doctor.

Hi, your Bp is quite low, but heart rate seems to be fine. If you do not have any weakness or giddiness, then I think this Bp is normal for you, other wise you might to get checked up, probably your too dehydrated and dietary intake is low. Improving your water intake and food intake will normalise the Bp. Better get your self checked once in the near by hospital.

Please suggest me Normal blood pressure in human body. What is called high pressure.
The normal blood pressure is 120/ 80 mmHg, something it varies according to age and body weight and high blood pressure is 130/90 and above. Ok but once you get hight reading you should not consider it as high BP the three consecutive reading for 3 days ok.

I have hypertension can I be pregnant now I am on ayurvedic medicine bp ranges 140/90.

MBBS
General Physician, Kendujhar
I have hypertension can I be pregnant now I am on ayurvedic medicine bp ranges 140/90.
Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned there is no problem in getting pregnant but try to control it to 80-85mmhg for your diastolic pressure and for it you need to modify your lifestyle like this - 1) Eat healthy foods. Eat a healthy diet. Try the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Do consult with your dietician to make a chart. 2) Decrease the salt in your diet. 3) Try to maintain a healthy weight. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kilograms can lower your blood pressure. Increase physical activity. Regular physical activity can help lower your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems and keep your weight under control. So try to do at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. Aim to do muscle-strengthening exercises at least two days a week. 4) Try to avoid alcohol and smoking. 5) Try to manage stress. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. 6) Monitor your blood pressure at home. Home blood pressure monitoring can help you keep closer tabs on your blood pressure, show if medication is working, and even alert you and your doctor to potential complications. Hope that helps.

Is 60/90 reading for BP really low? What should be done to improve this other than consuming coffee n extra salt? I am 33 year old female and my BP has been low continuously.

MBBS, MD, DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Indore
Is it 60/90 or 90/60? There are various conditions which increases and decrease your BP level throughout the day. Do go for at-least three readings in a day, and if then too BP increases or decreases, then contact us for homeopathic medicines. FOR LOW B.P - 1. Eat a diet higher in salt. 2. To avoid problems with low blood pressure and lessen episodes of dizziness after meals, try eating smaller, more frequent meals. Cut back on carbohydrates. Rest after eating 3. Limit alcoholic beverages, Drink more fluids during hot weather and while sick with a viral illness, such as a cold or the flu. 4. Avoid heavy lifting. 5. Avoid prolonged exposure to hot water, such as hot showers and spas. If you get dizzy, sit down. 6. Get regular exercise to promote blood flow. 7. Be careful when rising from lying down or sitting. To help improve circulation, pump your feet and ankles a few times before standing up. Then proceed slowly. When getting out of bed, sit upright on the edge of the bed for a few minutes before standing. 8. Elevate the head of your bed at night by placing bricks or blocks under the head of bed. 9. Avoid straining while on the toilet. 10. Avoid standing still in place for long periods of time. Do revert for homeopathic medicines FOR B.P.
