Kiss Day Special - 8 Reasons Why You Must Kiss!

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Kiss Day Special - 8 Reasons Why You Must Kiss!

Kissing has several benefits than it may seem, sure, it feels great, but apart from that, it also lowers your blood pressure. It further releases epinephrine hormone into your blood which allows your heart to pump blood faster and hence reduces the amount of the bad cholesterolHere are a few reasons as to why you must grab the person you love and kiss him or her as soon as possible:

  1. It helps reduce your blood pressure: Kissing dilates the blood vessels and this can in turn help reduce the levels of your blood pressure.
  2. Relieves headache and cramps: The dilatation effect on the blood vessels seems to have a pronounced effect in relieving pain. This includes headaches and cramps from menstrual pain.
  3. Fights cavities: The saliva production in your mouth increases when you kiss. The excess saliva production helps to wash away the germs and plaque that accumulate in your mouth over a period of time. On the contrary, the cavity forming germs can also be transmitted from the mouth of one person to the other.
  4. Helps by releasing your happy hormones: Kissing helps release a cocktail of hormones such as dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin that are responsible for giving you a happy high. It is not just the sense of happiness you get from it, but also the hormones released can help strengthen the bond with your partner. Your lips have a dense connection of nerve endings which elevate the sense of pleasure in a person.
  5. Burn calories: Does it substitute for a 2 mile jog? No. But studies have shown that a good session of intense kissing can help burn up to about 8 to 16 calories.
  6. Boosts your self-esteem: Research has shown that people who leave home with a good bye kiss are more likely to work better and be in a good mood for the entire day. It could be because of the sense of feeling loved and cared for that makes one happy. A kiss can boost your self-esteem and even make you more productive at work.
  7. Tones the muscles of your face: Kissing involves the muscles present in your face and jaw line. A vigorous smooch can allow those muscles to act up and shape them in the process.
  8. Check out the compatibility with your partner: Kissing can be an important factor to measure the initial attraction of a person. This could be so important that it is often noticed that if the first kiss is not up to the mark, it can be a great turn off. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

Dear, Substance abuse and addiction needs to be treated. If you’re ready to stop the substance and willing to get the support you need, you can recover from addiction and abuse —no matter how bad the addiction or how powerless you feel. The first step in treating addiction is accepting that you have a problem. Confronting an addiction and accepting responsibility for your actions isn’t easy. But it’s a necessary step on the road to treatment and recovery. You should then consult a psychiatrist / psychologist who fill follow this treatment. 1. Detoxification using medicines. 2. Behavior modification with the help of therapies. 3. Counseling. 4. Medication to sustain and 5. Long term support. These given steps are essential for any addict to get effectively rid of addiction. Therefore, you need to stick to the treatment plan and cooperate with your psychiatrist / psychologist. Take care.

I am a boy of age 16. Is it right to watch lesbian videos when my mind says me to watch it.

I am a boy of age 16. Is it right to watch lesbian videos when my mind says me to watch it.
You are still at a very impressionable age and anything that is suggestible can sway your opinions and also your choices. So, it is advisable to keep off these videos. You need to wait for at least four years to be able to discern these type of issues. Your male sex hormone, testosterone, is very active right now and lesbian videos can take your sexual leanings in another direction and it will then become difficult to reverse it easily.

Fear And Anxiety
Tips for Overcoming Fear and Anxiety

1. Start small, and take the first step. You are on a journey. This is just the beginning. You only have to start.
2. Have faith in yourself. At least you’re brave enough “to try”. If you’re patient and keep trying you will get there in the end.
3. Make a list of all your fears so they’re not formless and vague. It is easier to fight them if you know what you are fighting!
4. Accept that life is often hard, and fear is natural and normal. Every person who succeeds will have to face and deal with fear.
5. Remind yourself of your successes and the ways in which you’ve changed. You have triumphed and succeeded over obstacles before.
6. Remind yourself of those who love you and believe in you. They know that you can do it – so derive some strength from them.
7. Imagine how you’ll look and how you’ll feel when you’ve succeed. It is WORTH making the effort. Don’t give up: you’ll reach your goal!

I'm mentally worried about certain things happening in my life. I passed out 12th on 2015 and due to some problems I dropped one year and took up coaching classes for medical entrances these year. As the exams are approaching I feel like I don't want to study MBBS as I am not going to be qualified. I want to do B. Sc Biotechnology. My parents are forcing me to make sure I get MBBS this year, because they have spend like 50k for coaching and they think it was a waste. And Because they think being a doctor is all about money and Lifetime insurance. They don't support my other choice i. E being a researcher. They constantly say me that it is a long way course and there is too much competition and I may end up being unemployed. They don't understand my ability of thinking and why I want to take biotechnology. Just because they say being Doctor is all about prestiges, money and insurance, I hate doctors and I hate thinking myself as a MBBS student too. Why would I end up taking MBBS because it makes people rich? I want to do something of my own, with my ability. Why would I run after prestige for just the tag before our names! Sometime I feel like ending up my life. I'm not even able to study for the entrances. I'm having sleep problems, sometime I sleep like never going to wake up or sometime I suffer from insomnia, my diet has been changed too. Either I eat too much or I don't eat at all and just lose appetite. I suffer from extreme headache too and not able to cry when I just want to scream and cry sometimes. Please help me through these.

Dear , why do you want to commit suicide? there are no problems in life which cannot be solved. Otherwise, because of the life given problems, almost half of the earth's population should commit suicide. See the fate of african country people. They are starving for everything and their suicide rate far too less than indian people. Wrong perception is the key. Please provide me more information and details. I will help you overcome any problems. Believe me. Take care.

Hello, Thanks for writing to us. I have read your case and can understand your situation. There is systematic program for de addiction which involves detoxification and then rehabilitation. This requires you to be admitted under surveillance of doctor / trained professional. First 3 to 4 days, you would be detoxified in which you would be started with I V fluids, multivitamins (B1 mainly) and benzodiazepines. This would correct electrolyte disturbances, replete vitamin deficiencies and would avoid harmful withdrawal symptoms. After this you would be started with anti craving drugs like Acamprosate, Naltrexone, Topiramate, etc to decrease the craving for alcohol. This would be then continued for 4 to 5 months to make sure you don't get into trap of alcohol use again. Hope I could solve your query. Feel free to write back. Regards.

Only strong will power, determination, attending AA meetings and diverting mind when tempted will help you stop alcohol Or may need professional help from a psychiatrist or de addiction centre . Alcohol causes 7 types of cancer, including breast, mouth and bowel cancers. When you drink alcohol, cancer-causing chemicals are formed. Alcohol also affects hormone levels and makes cells even more likely to be damaged by smoking. The less alcohol you drink, the lower the risk of cancer. No type of alcohol is better or worse than another, it is the alcohol itself that leads to the damage, regardless of whether it is in wine, beer or spirits. And drinking and smoking together are even worse for you. Not everyone who drinks alcohol will develop cancer. But on the whole, scientists have found that some cancers are more common in people who drink more alcohol than others. Every year, alcohol causes 4% of cancers .Tips to cut down on alcohol. There are lots of simple ways to cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink. It can help to work out if there are particular times or situations when you tend to have a drink, whether that’s a bad day at work or a weekly pub quiz tradition, and plan what you’ll say and do differently next time. Have more alcohol-free days a week. For liver health it’s best to have at least 2 days off alcohol in a row each week. Try agreeing on certain days with your partner or a friend and help each other and stick to it. If you are planning to drink alcohol, decide on a limit in advance and make sure you don’t go over it. Swap every other alcoholic drink for a soft one – starting with your first drink. Try shandy instead of a pint of beer, or swap some wine for soda and have a spritzer. Don’t stock up on beer, wine or spirits at home. Finish one drink before pouring another, because topping up drinks makes it harder to keep track of how much you’ve had and when you planned to stop. Avoid buying drinks in rounds, that way you don’t have to keep pace with anyone. Tell a friend or partner that you’re cutting down on alcohol, they can support you – or even join you.

Dear, tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like nicotine replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. But still you will need will power. You may consult a physician or deaddiction therapist or a rehabilitation facility for further advise. Take care.

Hi, Very often when we are stressed or depressed than multiple factors get compounded together and make it difficult for us to view our life objectively. Every new challenge seems too big to deal with and makes us feel worse or adds to our sense of misery, helplessness, hopelessness, anger or apathy. At such times it is good if we can go for regular counselling and therapy to a psychologist. You seem to be dealing with multiple concerns and I feel you may benefit from talking openly to someone who is supportive, listens to you with empathy, without any judgement and helps you address your concerns one by one. He or she would then also be able to help you enhance your coping skills so that you can deal with life more effectively. Please do not hesitate to seek the help of a psychologist/ counselor/ psychotherapist. It's the same as going to a doctor when we have a fever or other physical problem but somehow we hesitate when we have to seek help for emotional pain. Hope this helps and take care.
