Hello I have a query my mom has a light chest pain. What is the reason & medicine? What is the process to solve this problem?

MD - General Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
Kindly mentioned the age of your mother. Now assuming she is middle to old age. The fear that u might be having is, if it is related to the heart. If she has pain mainly on doing work and if she also has tiredness, it could be a heart condition. In any case I would recommend you to get an ECG done and get it looked at by a doctor.

Hello dear High cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. garlic,. My father is diabetic. And heart patient also. Can you tell me proper diet chart.

MSc
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
My father is diabetic. And heart patient also. Can you tell me proper diet chart.
We recommend intake of slow-release carbs (low gycemic index (GI) foods) to keep blood sugar levels even because they are digested more slowly. High GI foods spike the blood sugar rapidly, while low GI foods are absorbed gradually. We encourage eating regularly at set times. Eat smaller meals at regular intervals (6 to 7 times a day) as both overeating and starving could result in fatigue as well as cause blood sugar levels to fluctuate. The body is better able to regulate blood sugar levels—and the weight—when an individual maintains a regular meal schedule. We recommend moderate and consistent portion sizes for each meal or snack. •Reduce saturated fat and cholesterol from your diet. •Trim any visible fat off meat before cooking and remove the skin before cooking. Consume fish or chicken instead of red meat. •Instead of frying, choose to grill, broil, bake, or stir-fry. •Avoid using heavy cream, use low-fat milk. •Eat more foods rich in fiber, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. •Consume a low-fat balanced diet consisting of whole-grain cereals, low-fat/ skimmed dairy, fruits, vegetables, sprouts. •Avoid stimulants such as too much caffeine. •Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water everyday. •Lose weight, if overweight. Aim to maintain a healthy body weight. •Increase your level of physical activity (walk at least 45 minutes to 1 hour daily). •Meditation and relaxation techniques can help calm the body and mind, bringing them into a better state of balance. •Get enough sleep. A good night’s sleep helps reduce overall fatigue, anxiety and stress.

Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.

Heart Attack Prevention - Homeopathy
the heart is the motor that keeps the blood in motion throughoutall the blood vessels in the body. In order, for the heart muscle to pump properly, it needs to be nourished by coronary blood vessels. Any disease or blockage of the coronary arteries can deprive the heart muscle with the necessary oxygen and blood it needs for proper function.

A heart attack, medically known as myocardial infarction.

The most typical symptom of a heart attack is chest pain (angina pectoris) that may radiate to the left arm, neck, and jaw. Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, heat in the chest, anxiety, light headedness, or lossof consciousness.

The major risks factors for a heart attack are diabetes, lack of exercise, high blood pressure, sedentary lifestyle, oldage, hypercholesterolemia, obesity, smoking, a high-sodiumdiet, and genetic predisposition.
