Are anti pregnant pill are harmful for our pregnancy in future or is it true that if we don't get pregnant in initial years of marriage we will get some problem in getting pregnant in future?

Gynaecologist, Karnal
No dear lybrate-user. If taken under medical supervision and for a limited period, pills are not harmful for future. You should get pregnant in early years or not depends on various factors, eg. Age of both the partners at the time of marriage, any positive history of illness (pcod etc), occupation, and lastly financial position. It is preferable to get 1st pregnancy by age of 30years, at the latest.

6 Common Causes You May Get VAGINAL Discharge

Fellowship in IUI, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS

6 Common Causes You May Get VAGINAL Discharge
6 Common causes of abnormal vaginal discharge

There are certain glands in the vaginal walls and uterine cervix of a woman, which cleanse the vagina by producing a small amount of fluid. This clear or milky white coloured vaginal discharge is normal for a healthy woman if it doesn’t smell unpleasant. But if you observe that the colour, consistency, odour or amount of your vaginal discharge differs from usual, it may indicate an infection or a disease.

Here are 6 common factors behind abnormal vaginal discharge.

1. Bacterial vaginosis
Bacterial vaginosis is a medical condition characterised by agray discharge, which has a lingering fish-like odour. Moreover, if you experience irritation and burning sensation in the vagina, which is increased by intercourse, it’s a strong indication of bacterial vaginosis.

2. Yeast Infection
It often happens that your vaginal area’s natural bacterial balance is disturbed due to certain factors such as use of antibiotics, decreased immunity, stress, uncontrolled diabetes or consumption of excessive sugary foods. This results in yeast overgrowth in the vagina, known as simply yeast infection or candidiasis. It’s characterised by a thick and whitish-grey discharge from the vagina.

3. Gonorrhoea
Caused by the bacteria Neisseria Gonorrhoea, this sexually transmitted disease (STD) is an infection, which causes vaginal discharge of an intense odour. Other symptoms of this disease include feeling of pain while urinating, chills, fever and irregular discharge of menstrual fluids. If left untreated, gonorrhoea can transform into a pelvic inflammatory disease and can even lead to infertility.

4. Genital Herpes
Genital herpes, a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that leads to formation of small watery blisters on the vaginal area, and causes irritation, itching and pain while having intercourse or urinating, may also be the cause of a vaginal discharge of watery texture.

5. Atrophic Vaginitis
After menopause, there’s a considerable decrease in oestrogen levels of the body along with the occurrence of changes in tissues of the vaginal cavity. This medical condition, known as atrophic vaginitis, can lead to a watery vaginal discharge, which can sometimes get bloody. Some other symptoms of this disease are vaginal inflammation and thinning or atrophy of tissues.

6. Infected IUD
In some situations, it may happen that the intrauterine device (IUD- a form of contraceptive) inserted in the body of a woman can get infected. This results in a purulent discharge (pus) from the vagina. Getting the IUD removed as soon as possible is the best thing to be done in this situation.

Hi, I am not having periods on the right date this month. Till now I have never had irregular periods at all. First time this month. It is delayed by 12 days for today. I am having acne so taking treatment for that. I used T DESHIVE and vitamin c as medicine and other ointments. Nothing changed In my lifestyle. I am not married either. I am 24 years old.

Occasionally period can be. Delayed like this. Or may be starting irregular periods. Start exercising. If again irregular get investigated to rule out pcod.

I had sex last Saturday he used condoms and I took ipill on that day it self. Later I conducted a test yesterday that is on 24th of November it was negative. I am really worried today which means on 26th of November was my date of period but it did not happen. It is because of ipill it got late or am I pregnant?

General Physician, Gurgaon
Please go for a pregnancy test 10 days after the intercourse. If negative, its unlikely that you r pregnant. The pill you took is a hormonal pill and it certainly affects your menstrual cycle.

If you have been married for more than a year and have not conceived even after trying, you both need to get investigated. You should remember that in a regular menstrual cycle of 28-30 days, 11-17 th days are the baby or fertility days. And the chances of conception are maximum if you have intercourse in this period. Follow this for 3-4 months. Still if you dont conceive meet a gynecologist.

I am getting delayed in my period (over 10 days) since the time I took medicine for UTI infection .please suggest me the possible reason and is it fine or should I consult gyno.

Homeopath, Delhi
If you are having irregular periods from some time then you may consult gynaecologist as it may be pcod. If its happening for first time, it may be due to side effect of medicine.

I had sex with my boyfriend on 10th june, and my periods date is 24th of every month, i'm experiencing very light periods today, that is 17th june, I have no other symptoms of early pregnancy. I'm sure that we used a condom during penetration but some unprotected rubbing might have happened. Can I be pregnant? What should I do? I'm very tensed please help me.

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Vadodara
No if during penetration condom was used then there are very less chances of getting pregnant. Until the condom was broken. And if you are stressed then just buy a urine pregnancy test strip from any medical store and check it by urself. As it is very easy and most of the time accurate in diagnosing pregnancy.

She has tight vagina or vaginismus- the muscles of vagina go into spasm. Give more time to foreplay. Change the position to she on top or she on knees and enter vagina from back. You/ she can put one finger inside vagina with some gel as lubricant and rotate the finger around vagina, gradually putting two fingers and rotating. This way vagina will relax.

Hello Dear,Periods occur when the egg formed during each menstrual cycle in the female body is not fertilized and hence ejected out of the reproductive system along with blood and several other tissue cells. The duration of each menstrual cycle is about 28 days Most women will experience their monthly period right from the time they are 13 to the time they are 50. For many women, their monthly period is nothing more than an annoyance; but other women may suffer some problems.

Hi, I keep getting one cranker sore after another. Once one heals up, I get another. Its really annoying now because I now just got one cranker sore and am getting a new one starting to come in. Why does this happen? What can I do. Does being iron deficiency anemia and Type 2 diabetes have something to do with this?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Most canker sores clear on their own in one to two weeks. Treatments, if required, include mouth rinses, pastes and medication.Possible triggers for canker sores include: A minor injury to your mouth from dental work, overzealous brushing, sports mishaps or an accidental cheek bite. ... An allergic response to certain bacteria in your mouth. Helicobacter pylori, the same bacteria that cause peptic ulcers.Stress on the tissues or any type of injury in the mouth can cause canker sores. Since the sores are actually tiny ulcers, they can be caused by any kind of hard brushing or eating something that can cause bruises or lead to tissue inflammation in the mouth.Baking soda is an alkaline and will neutralize acids that irritate the canker sore; it also helps kill bacteria to help your sore heal quickly. For a cure, try this home remedy: Rinse your mouth with a solution of 1 teaspoon baking soda in 1/2 cup of warm water Or Mix one teaspoon of salt in one cup of lukewarm water and stir it well. Use the solution to rinse your mouth. Swish the solution around for at least 30 seconds and then spit it out. ... After completing your rinse, put a pinch of salt directly on the canker sore. ...Repeat the process four or five times a day.

Dear user. To TEST PREGNANCY AT HOME Simply add urine to a small piece of soap, if froth forms, or if the soap bubbles up, the test is positive. Mix ¼ cup of tuna juice and ¼ cup of vinegar in a plastic cup. Now pee in a separate cup and then add your urine to this mixture. After a few minutes, if the color changes to green, then you are pregnant. Take care.

Low lying placenta with lots of physical activity n walking can provoke bleeding during pregnancy. Try to avoid bumpy two wheeler ride n too much walking. A car drive s preferred.
