Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello. This happens due to water and electrolytes loss frm body due to heat. Keep urself well hyrated with water. Take sharbat, juices, fruits in your daily food. Use caps, goggles, umbrella etc to cover urself frm strong sunrays.

typhoid is a food and water borne disease. it is mainly associated with taking unhygienic road-side food and juice etc. try to carry your own tiffin and water to your office/college. this may not look cool , but will save you from lot of problems. whenever you eat outside ,try to have your meal in a clean and hygienic restaurant/hotel/dhaba. wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before consumption. there are 2 typhoid vaccine available in india ( i recommend the injectable form ,typbar ), which can give you upto 70% immunity for 3 years. as for pneumonia is concerned, it is usually caused by fine droplets like coughing , sneezing etc. it is one of the commonest communicable disease in India ,because of high population and overcrowding, hot and humid climate ,lack of personal and social etiquette etc. it is usually unavoidable unless you have very strong immunity .again,there are no medicines to build immunity, it is advised that you eat well and healthy and do exercise daily. there are 2 injectable vaccines available for pneumonia too, one fights against 13 pneumonia causing bacteria (prevnar) . the other one( pneumovac) fights 23. so, you can use them. they are both quite safe and effective . i advise all adults , who are not previously vaccinated,to get vaccinated with vaccine preventable diseases like hepatitis a and b, influenza,chicken pox,typhoid, pneumonia ,etc. i run an affordable adult vaccination package at my clinic and will soon put this package online on lybrate. take care and be healthy.

I am a vegetarian. I had not taken proper diet in my childhood. So I am lean and thin and even my height is only 5'6" My weight is about 44kg only. I am 18.5 years old. Now I live in hostel. I do not get proper food here so now I am not even able to maintain my present weight. Could you suggest me some ways so that I could be healthy and I f possible get my weight around 55-60.

I suggest you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. Start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2. Take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3. Triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4. Amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating. When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. Sesame seeds, ground nuts, and peanuts also contain fats in them and can help in adding that extra pounds you desire. 2. Sometimes loss of appetite may also cause weight loss. So you should take following remedies improving weight a]triphala kadha 4tsp before lunch and dinner b]amala juice 4 tsp + sugar 2 tsp+ honey 2 tsp empty stomach in the morning umami flavor increases satiety and enhances appetite. Due to improving hunger and digestion whatever you will eat more and even you eat more it will digest properly and your weight will increase naturally without any supplement.

I am having ankylosing spondylitis from last 2 years and I have been under folitrax medication. Is this will harm me long term. Nd is it lyk I can b fine without medicine for long. Suggest.

For ankylosing spondylitis the best suggestion to do general aerobic exercises which includes breathing and all the other exercises which involves the total movements of the proximal joints ie. Neck, shoulder, elbow in the upper limb and in the lower limbs, trunk, hip, knee movements which will facilitate to improve the normal range of motion of the joints thereby improving the blood circulation. You can also try swimming activity, tread mill, cycling etc.

Hi lybrate-user. For your height your weight should be 80 kgs to gain muscle start strength training exercises post workout have protein rich foods like eggs, whey boiled Chana, milk+egg combinations, paneer etc. Have a high protein and calorie diet. Pre workout have banana shake. Include calorifically dense foods like nuts, milk n milk products, banana, chicoo etc.

1. Firstly take small meals on fixed timings after every 3 hrs. 2. Drink 12-15 glasses of water in a day 3. Do brisk walk daily 2 km early morning. 4.AVOID oily, spicy, stale food. 5. Stop drinking tea coffee, cold drinks, or any other artificial drinks or appetizers rather prefer buttermilk, lemon water or soda if suits u and coconut water. 6. Take proper deep sleep of 6-8 hrs daily.preferably b/w( 11-6 pm). 7. Take 1tsf avipattikar churna (Dabur) twice daily empty stomach with water.,,, 2 tab chitrakadi vati ,,,2 tab shoothshekhar ras,, 30 min after meals with little water.

You have thyroid problem, that's why your weight is increasing. You can follow balance diet. Avoid rice at night. You consumed 1glass lukewarm water in the morning. Then after go for a brisk walk atleast 45 minutes. Take small and frequent meals. Drink more water. Avoid junk food. And avoid soya product. Spinch, reddish, capsicum use limited amount.

Eat a lot of good things Protein = building block for your muscles Carbs will help you put on weight, but it won’t be muscle Keep track of everything you eat Compound exercises are your friend Appearance is a consequence of fitness Let your muscles rest Sleep Make it part of your routine Realize you will put on some fat you need to take a balanced diet.

Wear knee cap so that you will feel firm while walking or climbing stairs. You have to strengthen the knee by doing quadriceps muscle strengthening exercises.

Hye. Thanks for the query. Depending on the type and level of workout you do, your protein needs may vary anywhere from 1.2 to 1.8 gms per kilograms of body weight. This needs to be assessed taking into consideration your intake, history etc too. But remember it's not all about only protein. Protein has to be in a balance with carbohydrates and fats as well.

I am aged 58 years. Upto the age of 25 used to cycle every day for not less than 4-5 kms per day. Now I am cycling 5-7 kms per day for body fitness. Every day, In the starting used to get leg pain, above knees, not unbearable. However, after 1-2 kms there will not be any pain. Can I cycle every day like this. I am 85 kgs weight. I also used to play cricket from my child hood to the age of 25 and from 25 years of age till 51 years of age used to play Table Tennis.

Its excellent to hear that you have been keeping active even at the age of 58. Well done, indeed! Unless you have persistent pain around your knee or hip you have nothing to worry. You may be having some stiffness of the knee from underlying arthritis. Since the level of pain is bearable, there is nothing to worry.
