Hi I feel lethargic at times, and want to sleep more. The physical activities is zero other than going in and out of office, am just 26 and my weight is around 95 kgs, I feel lazy at times and feel sloggy even after 6 hrs of a good night's sleep, My question is: Is it a sign of any disease?

Being overweight isn’t just a cosmetic problem. Excess body fat can negatively affect nearly every facet of life, including: Decreased mobility Poorer emotional health and self-esteem Increased risk of organ failure Poorer circulatory health Increased risk of heart disease Increased risk of stress fractures Increased risk of strokes Increased risk of cancers Fat cells can act as endocrine factories and produce hormones that influence numerous processes in the body — most of which lead to more fat accumulation. Beyond the health of it all, carrying a lower body fat is often considered more attractive and desirable. Bottom line: Carrying a lot of excessive body fat makes health, body composition. To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

Am very thin to look. I do not know the reason please give suggestions for become fat I have a habit of self masturbation its this any problem for my body.

Dear lybrate user, sperm cells are being continuously produced inside human testis. A single sperm cell needs about 4 months to mature before being ejaculated. Masturbating ejaculates many mature as well as immature sperm & results in the temporary deficit of sperm count. This loss of sperm results in the increased production of sperm. A sperm is mainly made up of protein. An increased production of sperm count needs a steady supply of protein. This supply of protein is met from the amount of protein we intake daily. Over masturbation increases the rate of production of sperm to such extent that the demand for protein cannot be fulfilled naturally & it often results in breakdown of protein from muscle tissues. This breakdown of muscle tissues is externally manifested as fatigue, weakness etc. Addiction to masturbation denotes that you are continuously indulged in sexual thoughts. This type of thoughts is common in people who live a sedentary life. If you really have a sedentary life-style you should get yourself out from it immediately. Socialize yourself. Do some physical exercise daily. Drink a lots of water. Create a routine of your daily schedule & maintain it. Stop watching porn in case you have developed a habit of watching it also you can take homoeopathic mother tincture origanum q, 10 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. This medicine will help to control your excessive sexual desire. However, you can masturbate for twice in a week.

Hi take moderate carbohydrate, moderate protein, low fat diet. Take a cup of green tea in the morning and evening. Avoid eating fried foods, junk foods, milk products like cheese, khoa, etc. Also do not take creamed milk rather take skimmed milk. Eat less chapatis, less rice, more pulses and pulses products, fresh fruits and vegetables. Must take exercises daily.

I am a diabetic since 1989. I am under continuous treatment and my blood glucose levels remain under control mostly. But for last two years I have been suffering from acute acidity. Doctor has prescribed omez 20 once daily empty stomach. This medicine has given me relief. Can omez 20 be continued for a long time?

Dear lybrate-user, improve your diet, timing of diet. Avoid smoking and alcohol. Avoid fried items. Don't lie down soon after meals. Have omez only when you get acidity. Long term use of omez may lead to bone thinning or osteoporosis. Check the list of medicines and remove offending agent with help of your doctor. Long standard diabetes leads to gastroparesis or slow move of stomach which leads to acid reflux. Discuss this with your doctor.

For those who are interested in weight lose.
Here is few exercises
1- Lie on your back and start cycling.Do as much as you can
2- Now in the same positions try walking , one leg up while don't let he other leg touch the ground
3- Same position(lying on back) move you both legs like a piston.
4- Keep doing it for 10-15 mins continuously

Things to remember

Warm and cool down befor and after exercise
Fat will start burning oy after 45+ minutes of strenuous exercise.
Trade mill and cycling before doing these exercise is beneficial

You need to consume essential fatty acids and high biological value protein. Need to consume complex carbohydrates instead of simple carbohydrate. Take green tea 2- 3times aday. Flaxseeds powder in salads, curd, dal. Black pepper.

i suggest you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2.take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3.triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4.amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating ......

Hello sir, My daughter 11 years old she have PGE primary general epilepsy. She take Keppra 250 mg medicine. I want know if PGE can cure by operation are possible or not ? Any doctor or hospital in south Asian country? Please give solution without medicine.

U need complete evaluation with epilepsy protocol mri. Why do you want operation if it can be treated with medicines. Brain operation is not without risks. If its medically refractory and surgically curable I may be of help. Whethet it can be cured by surgery we will only know after thorough evaluation.

I live in a hostel .and no facilities for milk so parents give me milk powder so it is useful or not. Is it equal to cow milk?

Dear your parents have done really good job Powder milk can give you safe, constant, standard supply of nutrition. Moreover, no risk of getting spoiled like fresh milk. There is no harm in taking powder milk. Some people like to eat it raw as they like the taste. If you don't like the taste, add any flavor like strawberry crush, chocolate syrup etc. You will enjoy. Pl do not take it very diluted, as it will not serve the purpose. All the best

All About Tubal Ligation

Tubal ligation involves a surgical procedure in which the fallopian tubes of a woman are either cut or tied. The procedure is aimed at preventing the passage of eggs from the ovaries to the fallopian tubes, where they are usually fertilized by a sperm. A gynaecologist is the one who performs the surgery, and it is a permanent birth control method for women.

Tubal Ligation Methods

The different ways in which tubal ligation can be done are:

  1. Laparoscopy: This is usually done with general anesthesia wherein surgical tools and viewing instruments are inserted through two small incisions made in the abdomen and then the tubes are clipped.
  2. A Postpartum tubal ligation: This is usually done within 24-36 hours of childbirth. The fallopian tubes are at a higher position after childbirth, so a small incision is made under the belly button and the tubes are stitched closed.

Expectations after Surgery

  1. You will need no more birth control backup method after the surgery.
  2. The gas used during the surgery might still be left inside your stomach; as a result your stomach might be a bit swollen as a result, but it goes away usually in one or two days.
  3. You should make sure not to rub or disturb the incision for about a week while you take a bath.

How well does Tubal Ligation work?

Tubal ligation is a form of permanent birth control as it is quite efficient in stopping the passage of eggs to the fallopian tubes. Statistics show that about 5 out of 1000 women run the chance of pregnancy after the surgery; most of them were either pregnant during the time of the surgery or the surgery wasn't done correctly.

Possible risk factors

There are no major complications in case of tubal ligation. But there are certain risks which should be considered:

  1. Minor risks-Either wound separation or infection.
  2. Major risks-There can be some cases of heavy blood loss or organ injury due to faulty surgical techniques.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Tubal Ligation Advantage

Being a permanent method of birth control, it allows you to be sexually active without anxiety of pregnancy.

Tubal ligation doesn't stop you from contracting sexually transmitted diseases, so make sure to protect yourselves against them.

all sugar containing foods are unhealthy for him. you need to give routine foods like Indian veg meals. portions of vegetable must be large. you need to cut potatoes and sweet fruits like mangoes, banana, custard apple, grapes etc. aple, strawberry , ajmun etc are better fruits. healthy life style like walking for 5 km per day is must.

this all are good source of protein and energy but instead of taking this in one time divide it in small meal so your digestive system will not suffer from overload and it will also help full in proper digestion.
