I got right side inflammatory sacroiliitis. Can I do weight lifting? I do not experience any pain after excessive walking or weight lifting (I do it at home). But I want some professional trainer. Plus I got HLA-B27 ve but doctors say that I do not yet have spondylitis spondylitis after reading my blood tests, MRI and X-Rays.

Orthopedist, Mumbai
Hello lybrate user, the condition what you are talking about is known as sero-negative arthritis. It is a systemic arthritis involving many joints in the body. It includes about 4 to 5 different clinical disorders and the joints involved would depend on the particular condition that affects you. Not all patients with hla-b 27 are affected by these conditions but the risk of developing the disorder is quite high. You have said that you already have inflammatory sacroilitis, so you probably are at an increased risk. I would suggest you to continue light gymnasium activities enough for you to stay fit rather than heavy gymming which can put stresses on the inflamed joints and lead to quicker arthritis. I would also suggest you to consult a physiotherapist to maintain fully functional joints through different exercises. Hope this helps.

I have back pain if I sit long time I get the pain. I want how the pain will reduce.
Walk around every 20-30 minutes and stretch yourself. Make sure your chair is comfortable for you. Do not sit awkwardly Meet a physio and start back strengthening exercises. If not responding or if you are having radiating pain down your legs or if ther is numbness in your legs, meet an Orthopaedician and take his advice. Regards.

You may have a bad back because of your pregnancy and bad posture. I suggest you undergo some physiotherapy and back strengthening exercises. Also you could apply a hot water bag fomentation to relieve the pain.

Hi Sir, I would like to hear from you regarding my health condition. I am having an acute/mild shoulder blade pain when leaning forward and deep breath. The pain is in left side of my back. I do not feel any pain in daily activities but when I deep breath and lean forward it hurts slightly. I also has a dry cough but not very much. I visited my nearest doctor for the same and he suggested to do some some tests. The tests and their readings are: Plasma Glucose (F): 85 mg/dl HB: 14.2 gm/dl TC: Erythrocytes 5.12 millions/cu. Mm, leukocytes 7000/cu. Mm DC: neutrophil 53%, Lymphocytes 33%, monocyte 4%, eosinophil 10%, basophil 0% T4: 8.70 mcg/dl TSH: 7.74 mcU/ml Uric Acid: 5.0 mg/dl Creatinine: 0.97 mg/dl ASO Titre: 154.4 IU/ml ESR: 1st Hr 12 mm Chest X-Ray: No parenchymal lung lesion seen, Trachea is central in position, Hilar shadows are normal, Domes of the diaphragm are normal, costophrenic angles are sharply outlines, cardiac size and shape are normal, bony cage and soft tissue shadows are normal I am very anxious about the problem and want a complete recover. The doctor I visited has said that I have no problem and he prescribed some medicines are: montana-L for 10 days Mucolite syrup thrice daily Thyrox 12.5 half tablet daily Riconia tablet daily. The doctor said I have slightly thyroid for which he prescribed Thyrox 12.5 but I did not understand for what the back shoulder pain is coming. I can do my daily activities very easily without any pain in my back but I am getting little stress about the pain. I want to know why this pain is happening. However I am very healthy and my BMI is 20.5 I would therefore request you to sort out the problem

I have a complete ACL tear .My activity level is high. I heard there is a non surgical repair way. How does that work? I want a complete recovery since i'm a sportsperson .Shall I go with reconstruction surgery?

Before the advent of Arthroscopic surgery, complete ACL tears were treated with plaster cast & physiotherapy with varying degree of success. If your diagnosis is correct, then, I think you should go for arthroscopic reconstruction of ACL.
