Better avoid serving food in plasic cotainers which are lined by BFA which is potentially harmful to human. Glass, ceramic, metal utensils are best for helth.

Health Tip for Kids Care

Always make it a practice to encourage your children to inform you if they face any pain or discomfort in the neck or back before it becomes a serious problem.

Tetanus - Why You Need To Get Your Child Vaccinated Against It?

Tetanus - Why You Need To Get Your Child Vaccinated Against It?

It is the first vaccine that the doctor will ask your child to get if he/she gets wound. Tetanus is a rare but severe condition which occurs when bacteria enter into an open wound. It can turn fatal if left untreated, so you need to follow the vaccination schedule in order to control the infection. Indulging in substance abuse (especially the ones that require injecting with syringes) increases the risk of tetanus.

Causes
This disorder is caused by the bacteria called ‘Clostridium tetani’. The bacterium is known to survive for an extended period outside the body, and is found in places such as soil and the manure of cows and horses. The bacteria enter the body through a wound, multiply rapidly and then release a toxin. This toxin causes muscle spasms and stiffness, thus affecting your nerves. The bacteria can enter the body through cuts, burns, animal bites, body piercings and eye injuries. However, this disorder is not contagious.

Symptoms
The symptoms of this disease can take 5-20 days to develop fully in the body. Your child may experience symptoms such as a rise in the body temperature, sweating, rapid heartbeats, muscle spasms and stiffening of the jaw muscles. These symptoms will worsen if left untreated, eventually leading to cardiac arrest or suffocation in some cases.

Treatment
If your child has a wound, the first step is to administer an injection of tetanus immunoglobulin. Tetanus immunoglobulin contains antibodies that effectively kill the tetanus bacteria. In case the symptoms start, then the child might need to be admitted to a hospital. Here, antibiotics and muscle relaxants are administered and breathing support may also be provided if required.

The preventive measure of this disorder is to be vaccinated against the ‘tetanus’ bacteria. The vaccine consists of five injections that are administered in a specific order. Once the entire course has been completed, it usually provides lifelong protection against the tetanus bacteria. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a pediatrician.

My 2 months baby refuse to take mother's breast feed. We are trying hard to feed him but he refuse to take, while he is enjoying to take breast feed from others women. I wanted to know long consequences for the same. We are giving him formula milk. Should we give some additional supplement or any other techniques can we apply for breast feed. We require valuable input.

If you give formula in bottle the will be breast and nipple confusion. There may be crack or extra lager areola in mother. You can try putting a nipple shield and see. Do not feed in bottle and feed with a spoon after giving breast.

My son studying in 6 standard, every day he studies for 2-3 hours, but he cannot remember nor able to write correctly what he had studied yesterday. Kindly suggest the solution how to maintain the memory what he had studied. Also their is regularly etching on his dody, he is 10 years old because of that lot of etching mark on his hands.

This is a common problem in children of this age group, often parents complain of such things with their children, there is no connection of skin and memory, as far as etching of skin is there, there might be some allergen which is causing it or sometimes dry skin may be cause of etching marks. Use a good moisturiser to whole body before sleep, ask him to drink plenty of fluids/water. Still problem persists consult a dermatologist, as far as memory is concerned nothing to worry, each and every individual has different iq levels and different grasping and retaining abilities. Just have patience as the children grow they will develop their skills.

This is normal dear. It is possible sometimes that by birth you have less fatty tissue insulation in hands. Where veins don't have that subcutaneous fat base which fixes the vein and allows less movement. But if it is not so than also is fine, it is not counted as any disease at all. So enjoy.

My daughter is 3 years 4 month she is suffering from albumin, know her reports are normal, I want to know that this albumin will go away, can you suggest me it should not come again and again.
