Sometimes these kind of reports come and if the scan centre and scan doctor are good you can wait and see in the next scan whether it disappears. If not get a second opinion from a reputed scan doctor.

Hello- Vagina k natural secretion mai kami ki wajah se ya fir vaginal PH acidic hone k karan ye dikkatein hoti hai. Aap apne khane pine aur sone ka routine correct karein, external lubrication ka use karein aur din mai 3-4 ltr water intake rakhein, problem solve ho jaegi.

I am 32 year old female. I had endometriosis both side of my ovaries ,right side cyst was removed in 2012 but due to adhesions left side was not removed. Trying to conceive since last 4 years .In latest HSG report my right side tube has hydrosalpinx but proximal part of the tube is fine. Planning for IVF. My doctor suggested since the proximal part of tube is normal we can go ahead for IVF without drinking tube .Need second opinion of any experienced IVF specialist. Pls find below HSG report done on 29 march '16- RT TUBE- Normal proximal and Mid tube ,ampullary coiling, clumping seen, Distal folds pimbrial end clumped, Pertitubal contrast pocket seen (ADHESIONS, Tubal pressure not elevated, Tube spill seen. LEFT TUBE - Normal proximal tube, Marked ampullary dilation, Distal folds not seen, Fimbrial end Obstructed, Tubal pressure not elevated, No spill seen. My question is - Since the proximal part of tube is normal can we go ahead for IVF with out surgery? Or it will effect implantation of embryo .What are my chances of successful IVF in this case? Is there any other way sort it out as I do not want to go for another surgery to drink tube.

hi Neha, you can go for round of embryo transfer as if their is hydrosalpix fluid may interfere with implantation. right tube is also coiled means their are chances of ectopic pregnancy too. if good quality embryos are transferred and lining is good then chances of getting pregnant will be around 20%-30%. with such history.

She is suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder but I will not suggest any medicines for it. With reports of water & air pollution & other contagious diseases flashing everywhere, one does get scary about hygiene. She needs counselling from someone who can understand her & whom she trusts. Show her doctors and nurses working non stop among all kinds of patients & doing great jobs of saving lives of others. Tell her about not being selfish and finicky about just her own life. May be simple advice helps her.

Hi I'm married women I want to know secure days for sex so that I will not get pregnant. Please tell.

DGO, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Generally if you had been having 28 to 30 days menstrual cycle then 10to 20 day are considered dangerous days as chances of conception are meximum during this ovulatory phase. Rest of the days are safe days. But remember safe period of never safe as pregnancies have known to happen during this time too. Better use protection.

Mr. Lybrate-user, it is essential to get your diabetes under strict control, with fasting sugar level around 100 mg, pp150 to 160 mg & hba1c%<6.8. Father having diabetes will not affect the baby in mother's womb. But in later life chances of children getting diabetes (t2) are much higher, particularly if healthy lifestyle is not adapted. As regards sex life, diabetes can affect erectile function, so it is absolutely essential to achieve strict blood glucose control. Thanks.

The Psychological Impact Of Infertility And Its Treatment!

Almost every man and woman craves to have a child they can call their own. This makes an inability to procreate one of the most dreaded situations. Infertility can be defined as the inability to conceive a child within 12 months of biologically appropriately timed intercourse. Infertility exacts a huge psychological toll on the person.

  • Infertility often triggers depression in a person. This may be acute and result from specific events such as the holidays, family celebrations of the news of a someone else having conceived a child or could be cyclic and coincide with phases of their fertility cycle. This depression could lead to problems at work and communication with the spouse.
  • Infertility can also make a person feel helpless and affect their self esteem. Infertility accompanied by depression can trigger the feeling of having lost control over one’s life and can make people withdraw into themselves.
  • An infertile person may also often feel guilty and make them blame themselves and their prior actions for the condition. This leads them to question their worthiness of being a good spouse and potential parent. A woman who has suffered from an STD earlier or has undergone an abortion earlier can become obsessed with blaming herself for being infertile.
  • This affects their daily lives and ability to work. An infertile person may also feel guilty for having robbed their partner of the chance to become a parent. This can put a strain on their relationship and in many cases lead to a broken marriage.
  • When they find themselves unable to conceive a child, a couple may try to time their intercourse with ovulation tools, such as an ovulation thermometer etc. and may try different positions, some of which may be fairly uncomfortable. They may also end up having intercourse more often than desired. In order to prevent sperm from leaking out of the vagina, a woman may also find herself lying in an awkward supine position after intercourse. A combination of all these factors makes the act a chore and with time can lead to a loss of libido.
  • Infertility can also trigger anger against life for having been treated unfairly or towards other parents. This may also be displaced towards their family and friends leading to situations where they feel ostracized and unsupported.
  • When dealing with infertility, it is important to understand that neither partner is to blame. Infertility is a physiological condition and can be treated in most cases. It is important for both partners to support each other during this process and if need be consult a counselor.
