A piece of my upper right grinder, towards the cheek side, broke off, resulting in a big hole. This tooth was filled earlier with silver filling. What are the best options available for me for this tooth?

Certified Implantologist, BDS

hi..best option is to go for good composite material but it's not just filling the tooth hole , the tooth should be restored in such a way that it's original shape and anatomy is restored properly. .

To get rid of bad breath, simply mince 3-5 cloves of Garlic and swallow with a small glass of milk. Is water is equally good for swallow Garlic?

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

I'm a student, I'm suffering from tooth aches and teeth hve been yellowish. I need some help regarding this I brush twice a day!

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Toothaches can be due to decay, gum infection or sensitivity. Get your teeth x-rayed to determine the cause. Cavities can be filled with or without rct. Gum infection can be treated by scaling and polishing. For sensitivity, use desensitizing toothpaste twice daily. Regarding yellow teeth, everyone doesn't have pearl white teeth. You can go for bleaching.

How to brush correctly-
Aim the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle towards the gum line.

Use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.

Use a gentle circular motion.

Repeat on the inside surfaces.

Use a light back and forth motion on the chewing surfaces.

Spit out the toothpaste after brushing.
You do not need to rinse, as the small amount of fluoridated toothpaste left in your mouth after spitting continues to protect against tooth decay.

Electric toothbrushes also do a
good job of cleaning teeth.

Do not use your teeth for doing something other than chewing food. Using them for cracking nuts, removing bottle tops or ripping open packaging can result in chipped or broken teeth.

Pain in your lower right corner with swollen gums can be because of many reasons. Commonest being eruption problem due to wisdom tooth. Though you r 29 n you should already hav your wisdom tooth erupted by now. But wisdom tooth are always notorious. Other reasons might include gum problem there or caries. You r under antibiotic coverage and it better to visit a dentist and receive proper treatment now. Thank you.

Plaque tends to accumulate in the areas where the brush is unable to reach. Use of Waterjets can help in removing 99% of the plaque from your mouth.

Is it possible to take painless gum scaling treatment using advanced laser treatment.

BDS, MDS - Pediatric Dentistry , Certificate Course in Conscious Sedation
Dentist, Hyderabad
Pain is very subjective - different people react to it differently. Having said that, a procedure such as scaling can vary from painless to mild sensitivity to severe pain depending on the condition of the gums and pain threshold of the individual. If your gums are already inflamed and there is pre-existing gingivitis, you can expect mild to moderate sensitivity during scaling (even with laser assisted scaling). This can easily minimized by using an anesthetic gel or cream which the dentist will take care of. For advanced gum disease, your dentist will give you an injectable anesthetic to make sure the procedure is not painful.

Hello, you can do salt water rinses but this will give temporary relief from pain. Visit a dentist and get it checked if there is a cavity get it filled or if there is infection to roots get it treated. Brush twice daily, maintain proper brushing technique, floss regularly and rinse after every meal. Visit your dentist every 6 months.

You need scaling (professional cleaning) and polishing of all teeth. Your dentist will prescribe gum paint to be applied on gums and also mouthwash and anti-sensitive toothpaste.

What could be the best recovery method? I just had an major road accident. I had stitches on forehead, near eyebrow and on cheek. And I have lost my 4 teeth. So can you suggest what should I do to recover fast?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, the fast recovery can be achieved by taking a balanced, healthy and nutritious food, avoiding junk food, taking 7-9hours of sleep at night and 1-2 hours of rest during daytime, keeping yourself well-hydrated by drinking 10-12 glasses of water in a day. Physiotherapy would help you to improve your muscle movements. Also, visit a dentist for those 4 teeth. Medication: take homoeopathic medicines - arnica 30 and rhus tox. 30 - both 3 times a day for 2 weeks. And revert.

Dentist,
To lessen the degree of pain or soreness in the mouth during the orthodontic treatment, you can gargle with 8 ounces of lukewarm water with one teaspoonful of salt dissolved in it. Swish it around your mouth and then spit it out. It will dull the pain and provide relief.

BDS

Use senquel- f or sensodyne toothpaste twice or thrice daily, tak it on a finger n coat it on all the tooth surface, leave it for 5 min & after that brush using the same. These toothpaste have flouride content, which closes the open dentinal tubules thus preventing sensitivity gradualy.
