How to stop gas problem. i am suffering form this very often when i eat something
to stop gas poblem: -Avoid foods and drinks that trigger acidity (e.g. Fatty ,Spicy foods, onions, garlic, peppermint, chocolate, coffee, tea, citrus fruits or juices, tomatoes, cola or alcohol) -Stop smoking. & Avoid alcohol;Stress may increase stomach acids -Wear loose-fitting clothes.Tight clothes or belts can constrict your stomach. -Lose weight; Extra fat places pressure on abdomen, pushing gastric juices up  -Do daily exercise.like walking; It keeps you upright, allowing gravity to aid digestion -Don't lie down after eating.Wait at least 2-3 hours after meal before sleeping. Avoid late night snacks .Elevate the head end of bed by 6-8 inches. Sleep in left lateral position. -Review the medications;that cause acidity: like pain relievers/ antibiotics/Iron tablets HOME REMEDIES:.Dried ginger ,dried fennel or Ripened guava can speed up digestion of food  -TREATMENT: -Antacids: for mild symptoms, like Mucaine gel, may give relief.  -For severe cases, tablet Rabicip-D, are taken once/twice daily before meals as these reduce acid production in the stomach.

I experience strange involuntary movement in my chin. Its more like a jerk/tremor or a twitch. Specially if anything falls from my hand suddenly my chin has that involuntary movement or rarely when I am talking. Its only in the chin. No where else. I am otherwise a healthy person. No health issues. Is this serious?

Hello- The following are the most practical ways to help reduce premature ejaculation without the use of medication or costly medical treatment. 1. PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLE TRAINING Strengthening your pelvic muscles is one of the most effective ways to prevent the onset of premature ejaculation. The pelvic muscles, which support and help control the penis, have the ability to short circuit premature ejaculation when they are actively engaged immediately before ejaculation is allowed to occur. For most men these muscles are weak and get weaker with age, increasing the likelihood of premature ejaculation. A recent study found pelvic muscle exercise to be more effective than medication in treating premature ejaculation. 2. DOWN TEMPO This technique requires you to slow the pace of pelvic thrusting and varying the angle and depth of penetration before the “point of no return.” When done in conjunction with engaging your pelvic muscles this approach becomes very effective. 3. PAUSE-START METHOD If slowing the tempo is not sufficient to prevent the PE, one may need to stop thrusting completely while maintaining penetration in order for the ejaculatory “urgency” to go away. Once the sensation to ejaculate subsides, pelvic thrusting may be resumed. Again, engaging the pelvic muscles once you’ve stopped thrusting helps to greatly reduce the sensation. 4. SQUEEZE TECHNIQUE Originated by Masters and Johnson, as imminent ejaculation approaches, the penis is withdrawn and the head of the penis is squeezed until the feeling of ejaculation passes, after which intercourse is resumed. Although effective, it requires sexual interruption, is cumbersome and demands a very cooperative partner.

Dear Lybrateuser, - Your pain could be due your present state of mind - keep yourself busy with your job or reading, follow a hobby, do social work, interact with friends & family, try to forget the past - do regular exercise like walking, jogging for 20-30 min, do yoga, deep breathing & meditation which will calm your mind & keep you fit & focussed - have a well balanced diet with more of fruits & vegetables, whole grains, low fat dairy, nuts - take a pain relief tablet after meals if pain is more.

My relative diagnosed cyst and got operated. Is there any problem of infertility due to that?

My relative diagnosed cyst and got operated. Is there any problem of infertility due to that?
Presuming it is Ovarian Cyst which is normally harmless. Confirmed about its nature by Pathological test of removed portion called HPR nothing will happen. Depending on its site some delicate parts of Uterus are left untouched. Better discuss with doctor who has operated. You will receive detail answers and counselling

Dear Mr. lybrate-user If you have no fits for the past 3--5 years and EEG ok. Then you can reduce and perhaps stop. NO long term issues with medication. But if your fits are controlled doctors tend to reduce and stop over 1 year.

Nephrotic Syndrome: Know Its Causes and Treatment!

Nephrotic Syndrome: Know Its Causes and Treatment!

Glomerulonephritis is a disease that is caused due to inflammation of the small filters that are present within the kidneys or glomeruli. Glomeruli eliminate the excess waste, electrolytes and fluids from the blood, discharged through urine. A glomerular disease can be either acute or chronic. If the condition arises without a combination of any other disease, it is termed as primary glomerulonephritis. Secondary glomerulonephritis is characterized by diabetes or lupus (an auto-immune disorder) being at the root of the disease. Prolonged or severe inflammation can take a toll on the kidneys.

Causes-

Nephrotic syndrome can be primary, being a disease specific to the kidneys, or it can be secondary, being a renal manifestation of a systemic general illness. In all cases, injury to glomeruli is an essential feature. Kidney diseases that affect tubules and interstitium, such as interstitial nephritis, will not cause nephrotic syndrome.

Primary causes of nephrotic syndrome include the following, in approximate order of frequency:

  1. Minimal-change nephropathy
  2. Focal glomerulosclerosis
  3. Membranous nephropathy
  4. Hereditary nephropathies

Secondary causes include the following, again in order of approximate frequency:

  1. Diabetes mellitus
  2. Lupus erythematosus
  3. Viral infections (e.g., hepatitis B, hepatitis C, human immunodeficiency virus [HIV] )
  4. Amyloidosis and paraproteinemias
  5. Preeclampsia
  6. Allo-antibodies from enzyme replacement therapy

Nephrotic-range proteinuria may occur in other kidney diseases, such as IgA nephropathy. In that common glomerular disease, one-third of patients may have nephrotic-range proteinuria.

Nephrotic syndrome may occur in persons with sickle cell disease and evolve to renal failure. From a therapeutic perspective, nephrotic syndrome may be classified as steroid sensitive, steroid resistant, steroid dependent, or frequently relapsing.

Treatment-

  1. Whether one is suffering from acute or chronic nephrotic glomerular , with symptoms moderate or severe, the treatment lies in treating high blood pressure and other underlying conditions of the disease.

  2. Water pills help control sweating, thus increasing the fluid flushed from the kidneys.

  3. Statins reduce cholesterol level.

  4. Blood thinners such as anticoagulants lower the risk of blood clots.

  5. Corticosteroids regulate the immune system and ease the inflammation that results from kidney disorders.

  6. Incorporating certain lifestyle changes such as opting for lean proteins, cutting on the intake of fat in the diet and consuming lesser amounts of salt can treat inflammation and swelling.

  7. For kidney failure, dialysis can come to the aid in eliminating excess fluids and regulating hypertension.
