Dentist,
Hi chewing food becomes difficult when the amount of saliva in the mouth has reduced. This could be due to medications or due to radiotherapy. She could use artificial saliva which keeps the mouth moist.

Unfortunately once the bridge is in place you cannot change its shade much. You may have to get a new bridge done.

Do you have any habits like betel nut chewing or consumption of tobacco? if yes I would suggest you to stop your habits as they can also lead to oral cuts, lesions. Please show a dentist in person as further clinical examination is required. Till then avoid eating spicy, hot food, avoid citrus fruits like lemons, oranges, kiwi, strawberry etc.

Fully damage is little confusing term when used for tooth by a non medico person. You consult a dentist there and get one radiograph done. That will help the doctor to decide about the treatment plan.

Mouth ulcers are usually due to vitamin deficiency or bad digestion. Other causes are tonsils, trauma from teeth, dry mouth, tonsillitis, stress, change in lifestyle, allergies to certain foods and medication, smoking and tobacco chewing, consumption of spicy n hot foods. These ulcers are actually sores usually round, white, or grey in color, with a red edge or border. The condition is usually becomes okay within 7 days. But if it persists beyond that, or if multiple ulcers keep re-appearing, medical advice must be taken. In severe mouth ulcer attacks, you may also experience fever and physical sluggishness. Taking Vitamin B12 supplements along with a suitable gel for pain is the best remedy. I suggest that you consult me privately on lybrate so that I can send you the appropriate prescription. Take care

Kindly get an x-ray done of the tooth having pain. May be you will have to get root canal treatment done followed by a crown or cap. Till then you can take a pain killer like tab dentaforce dt 2 tablets dissolved in water. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique to maintain your oral hygiene.

I don't think that home remedies are much useful to it. If you are worried about the side effects of the medicines then you must think of taking homoeopathic medicines which are completely safe, and no complications and also give permanent results. But with proper consultation You may try till then Merc Sol 30 1 dose every week.

It is important to know about the reason because of which you have gone through flap surgery. If the flap surgery resolved the primary cause then there is nothing to worry about. In crown lengthening procedure flap surgery is done to make the gum recessed. If the infection occured after surgery is the cause of the recession then you should visit the same doctor again.

I am 46 years old having problem gum bleeding, tongue swelling and neck stiffness. Please advise.

I am 46 years old having problem gum bleeding, tongue swelling and neck stiffness. Please advise.
- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser.

Pimple on Downside of my tongue. It looks White and reddish colour. Very Painful. Already suffering from teeth pain. Now this too. Pls Help me. As I am working n ship facing internal problems. Suffering me a lot.

BDS

Hello Lybrate user, PIMPLE U SAID IS ULCERS ,ulcers in mouth have become a very common problem nowadays. There are many factors which cause ulcers which includes 1.stress.mostly ulcers occurs in students who have stress because of there academics .or in people who have irregular office timings or people who have night shifts. 2.acidity 3. Spicy foods 4.vitamin B12 deficiency I would advise you to make a small change in your lifestyle. Drink enough water keep your body hydrated .avoid spick food for a week. Take vitamin bcomplex supplement once a day for 5 days. Eat fresh fruits. And friit juices. Apply honey over your ulcers. You may also get hexigel ointment and apply in the affected area. And try to stay stress free. Use amlexanox gel apply 2-3 times a day till ulcers disappear. If not getting any improvement use doxycycline capsules, open it and get the powder out, make a paste with one or 2 drops of water, apply over ulcers 2 - 3 times. You can use both amlexanox and paste simultaneously. Even if its not working, last resort is to get it treated with lasers. There are few dentists in country use lasers to cure these ulcers permanently. So you have to find out who all can do it. THANK YOU.

To lessen the degree of pain or soreness in the mouth during the orthodontic treatment, you can gargle with 8 ounces of lukewarm water with one teaspoonful of salt dissolved in it. Swish it around your mouth and then spit it out. It will dull the pain and provide relief.
