Hello Doctor,
I (Age 21) had unprotected sex on first day of my periods. But ejaculation did not happen inside vagina...
It cannot be used as a regular contraceptive method and is quite unhealthy if taken more than twice a month. 3. The pill is to be taken soon after unprotected sex. It should be taken preferably within 24 hours and before 72 hours or else the pill may turn useless.

4 Tips to Keep Diabetes at Bay

Diabetes is also known as diabetes mellitus, is a group of metabolic diseases, which raises the glucose level in the blood. If suffering from diabetes, parts of your body might get affected with other diseases as well, like bad eyesight, etc.

Diabetes is of 3 types:

  1. Type 1 Diabetes: where your body stops insulin production.
  2. Type 2 Diabetes: where your body does not produce enough insulin to function on or where the cells of your body do not react toward the insulin produced
  3. Gestational Diabetes: This is the diabetes you or your partner may suffer from during pregnancy.

Suffering from diabetes can make your lifestyle extremely difficult as you will have to go through a lot of restrictions. In order to avoid diabetes and its various outcomes, here are some tips you can follow:

  1. Keep your weight in control: Make sure you are of the right weight according to your height. If you are more than what you should weigh, and you are creeping towards obesity, you have a high chance of succumbing to diabetes. If you are already obese, start working towards losing weight. Even if you lose 5% of your weight, you will slash the risk of having diabetes by 70%.
  2. Walk: No exercise is better and easier than walking. Try walking as much as you can. Walking will help you reduce the risk of getting affected with diabetes. If you walk for around 35 minutes every day, you are cutting down the risk of diabetes by almost 30%. Walking, being an exercise, helps your body use the insulin produced in your body more efficiently.
  3. Drink coffee: Coffee, unlike common belief of being harmful, is actually very beneficial when it comes to keeping diabetes at bay. Coffee contains caffeine, which is believed to improve metabolism. Coffee also has potassium, magnesium and various antioxidants which enable the cells to absorb glucose. Drinking coffee regularly might lower the risk of diabetes by 29%.
  4. Get proper rest at night: If you sleep for less than 6 hours every night, then the risk of you suffering from diabetes is doubled. But that doesn't mean you are supposed to oversleep. If you sleep more than 8 hours, the risk of being affected with it rises to almost 75%. Hence sleep at least for 6 to 8 hours each night for a healthy life sans diabetes.

Hi, According to the HSG report, there is no RT and LT spillage seen. This confirms tubal blocks. During previous month's HSG, back flow of the dye was noticed. Again it confirms tubal blocks. Due to this bilateral tubal blocks, chances of conception is difficult. It is better to consult a good gynaecologist for further treatment. If you are ready for IVF, it may be a better option.

Yeas, you must avoid dairy product specially milk and as curd is also one of dairy product you should avoid it for better and effective treatment .Yoga can play important role in the prevention and management of polycystic ovarian syndrome. Since stress is playing important factor in exaggerating pcos, so yoga therapy is effective in pcos. Yoga poses such as asanas, relaxation exercises, pranayama and meditation are effective as stress buster. Yoga poses like asanas help to stretch the pelvic area and pranayama as well as meditation soothe the mind. Exercise is really beneficial to managing our PCOS as it helps to manage insulin levels which in turn improves our testosterone and SHBG levels. Exercise as much as your capacity and consistencydont follow someone blindly. You can do cardio exercise, strenght training exercise and walking and all as per schedule with gym and as per your body capacity. Do not frustrate even if that exercise do not show any change in weighning machine, it will surely improve you from internally. So exercise gradually, until you reach your peak point and continue that.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. As you already know every day of your pregnancy period is important and there are every chances of abortion if you do not take care. In general, after the initial three months, if there are no other complication, the safe period of pregnancy starts. First three months are always gestation period. Still, even after the three months, you need to take many precautions. Take care.

usually four days before and four days after periods are considered safe, but if periods are irregular or the ovulation is delayed, then it would be wise to use protection to avoid pregnancy

Mam, In my right breast, it seems lumps, it remains there for more than 5 yrs, it doesn't pains me. Suggest if mammography is required.

Hi, by your history it sounds like fibrocystic changes, which is normal developmental changes. But get it examined by a surgeon to be sure. There is no immediate need of mammography. It can be decided after proper examination. If need be prefer ultrasound over mammography, if age less than 35 years and reverse for age more than 35 years. Regards sahil.
