Knee pain is a common complaint that affects people of all ages. Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, acl injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout and infections. From your symptoms it seems like you are developing osteo arthritis (oa) of knee. Try some home remedies for your pain relief: -activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting jogging aerobics, dancing playing sport -use hot or cold packs. By increasing blood flow, hot compresses can ease pain and stiffness. Cold compresses reduce swelling. You may want to experiment with heat versus cold packs to see what works best for you. -stay active, physical activity is one of the best ways to improve your quality of life. Exercise boosts your energy. It can also strengthen your muscles and bones, and help keep your joints flexible. Try resistance training to build stronger muscles. - quads strengthening exercises are helpful oa knee. You need detail assessment with a physiotherapist to find out the diagnosis and for pain management. Best wishes.

Hello Avas. Thank you for contacting. It's good that no fracture is present. D4 is a vertebra level. You should take physiotherapy for compression relief. IV disc is a soft pad that is present between two vertebra. It's functional is in shock absorption. I hope this will help you.

This reset may be performed seated or standing. Glide your head backward like it's on a rail. Place your hands at your chin. Tilt your head back using the muscles in the back of your neck. Very gently assist with your hands at the end of your natural range of motion. Don't hold. Return to start position. If you feel compression or discomfort at the base of the neck, modify your range of motion. Repeat eight to 10 times. Exhale as you tilt your head backward. Inhale as you return your head to start position. Incorporate this simple and effective reset anytime you find yourself with your neck too far forward.

Hello lybrate-user, I would suggest you to go for a mri. To rule out any meniscus or ligaments tear to avoid early arthritis. If you can share history of injury, than it would be better to understand the nature of cause of pain. Regards.

Sir, while folding and unfolding some of my fingers of both hands experience pain now a days. Could you please explain the reason and what I should do?

Diploma in Acupuncture, Pranic Healing, MD - Acupuncture
Acupuncturist, Bangalore
Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel).
