You had first exposure on 20th day. In normal 28 days cycle, the egg ruptures on 14th day and can result in pregnancy till the 17th day. So if you were in a regular cycle your chance for pregnancy would be low. But quite often egg ruptures can get delayed, and this usually results in accidental pregnancy. The i-pill best works if taken within 12 hours and effect lasts for next 4-5 days. You were very much covered by safety period provided by i-pill, but unfortunately the drug has 20-30% failure rate. If pregnancy happens in spite of i-pill, you have to wait at least 7 days delayed period before you can test for pregnancy. In future it would be safer to use a regular pill.

The problem is my roommate , getting fatter day by day. We cannot figure out what could be the reason. Whilst other girls here in the hostel are getting thinner due to the improper food and hygiene, she on the other hand is gaining weight and has become 10 times fatter than what she was when she came to Asansol, here in the hostel, last year. It has been 1 year. Please give me tips on how to reduce or lose weight within only a few weeks. What to eat and what not to? Will it just be okay if she drinks a lot of water and minimizes the quantity of food by a considerable amount?

Your room mate is not the problem but the monotonous food served by hostel is, that leads to binge eating. You are right that drinking lots of water does reduce the need to eat extra. Go for weekly shopping for fruits and vegetables and store them in fridge if you have got one in your room, otherwise buy one, some authorities do give permission to keep coolers and fridge in rooms. Do try for few days - eat hostel food plus plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables plus water and write back after a month. Remember walking is best and simple exercise.

PCOD Diet - What Eating Habits You Must Follow?

What is PCOD?
PCOD or Polycystic Ovarian Disease now a days renamed as PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) is a hormonal disorder or also called as group of symptoms common among women of reproductive age. Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormone (androgen) levels. The ovaries may develop numerous small collections of fluid (follicles) and fail to regularly release ovum.

Causes Of PCOD-
The cysts are mostly caused due to hormonal changes and fluctuations. It could be genetic. PCOD can also be a result of an unhealthy lifestyle that includes little rest, inadequate sleep and unwholesome diet lacking in the right nutrients

Symptoms Of PCOD-

  • Acne
  • Excessive growth of facial hair
  • Weight gain
  • Difficulty in losing weight
  • Excessive hair on body as well, including chest, stomach and back
  • Irregular menstrual cycle. Women may miss their periods, or bleed more than once a month
  • Extremely heavy bleeding
  • Severe pain and muscular cramps during menstruation
  • Problems getting pregnant
  • Infertility
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Depression
  • Other serious hormonal disorders
  • It can lead to diabetes
  • It can lead to repeated miscarriages
  • A major risk of PCOD if left untreated, is that it can lead to endometrial cancer

Diet For PCOD-
A healthy diet along with physical activities and abstinence from smoking can help to reduce the symptoms of PCOD and prevent the disease.

  1. Increase the intake of fresh, green vegetables.
  2. Cutting down on junk, fried food and most importantly, processed food.
  3. Abstaining from or greatly reducing the intake of alcohol.
  4. Cutting down on sugary, aerated drinks..
  5. Reduce dairy products as milk may raise the levels of testosterones in the body.
  6. Reducing or eliminating consumption of caffeine may help to increase chances of a fertile reproductive system.
  7. Prevent yourself from giving in to unhealthy food cravings.
  8. Eat small healthy meals at regular intervals.
  9. Follow dinacharya and rutucharya described in Ayurveda
  10. Good food habbits from ayurveda texts(consult doctors).

Hello, the redness in the perineal area can be due to friction injury or rash due to moisture. You may apply cold compresses locally and see if it goes then it is likely a heat rash, else you need to visit a dermatologist.

Hello, there are no particular foods which can help you conceive, so you may eat anything you wish. Secondly frequent intercourses should be planned near ovulation to increase chances of conception. Wait for your missed periods and then get a serum beta hcg test done to check for pregnancy.

You can conceive if you perform intercourse in your fertile periods which is from 11-17 day of your cycle. It is counted from 1st day of your mensturation. Get yourself tested for thyroid, hormone imbalance, cystic disease. If finding hard to conceive.
