After 3 months post C section delivery, my wife is facing pain in both legs I.e. Sciatica nerve pain emerging from hips and also having tight belly with mild pain on pressing the belly. Please suggest the diagnosis and line of treatment?

Let her have neurobion tabs ,along with Calcium, vitamin D3 and iron, she may also do some mild physical activity like walking and an oil massage on her legs starting from hips with olive oil. Due to long spell of pregnancy, C-section and then post delivery inactivity the muscles and nerves become listless and inactive, for which the best way is to revive it by the above said treatment Tight belly with mild pain is again due to harmonal changes, or acidity and gas ,take some antacids and light meals.

There is no food that is harmful for getting pregnant. In-fact chicken is a good source of protein which will help development of your baby if you get pregnant. U need to have regular sex in order to get pregnant i. E. 3-4 times a week and you can follow calender method to find out when you can get pregnant. If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26days) minus18days=8th day. The longest cycle (31days) minus 10days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period.

Health Benefits of Papaya

Why is papaya a great food?

  • High In Fiber Papaya is a great source of dietary fiber . This nutrient absorbs toxins in the colon that can cause cancer and eliminates them from the body through bowel movement. Due to its rich fiber content, papaya aids digestion and imparts a beautiful glow to your skin.
  • Rich In Vitamins And Minerals Papaya contains abundant amounts of vitamin C, a potent antioxidant . It also aids wound healing, reduces the risk of cancer due to oxidative stress, and boosts your immunity to fight common ailments such as cold and cough. This fruit is also replete with vitamin A and minerals like phosphorus, iron, potassium, copper, manganese, calcium, and magnesium. Vitamin A is required to maintain healthy vision while phosphorus is needed for good heart health.
  • Rich In Antioxidants The antioxidants present in dried papaya help to strengthen immunity and eliminate free radicals that are hazardous to your health. This fruit contains more amount of beta-carotene than in carrots.
  • Abundant In Bioflavonoids Also known as vitamin P, bioflavonoids are semi-essential nutrients that work as nature’s modifiers and respond to biological changes in the body. The bioflavonoids in papaya modify the reaction of the body to viruses, carcinogens, and allergens, thereby protecting it from harmful and life-threatening diseases.

I really what are the symptoms of ovarian cyst? And I also wanted to know more about ovarian cyst.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
An ovarian cyst is a collection of fluid inside an ovary. They are very common and do not usually cause any symptoms. Most ovarian cysts occur as a normal part of the process of ovulation called functional cysts. These cysts usually go away within a few months without any treatment. An ovarian cyst can be more concerning in a female who isn’t ovulating. Some tests are needed if the cyst is large or if it does disappear in a few months. Even though most of these cysts are benign, a small number of them could be cancer. An ovarian cyst is more likely to cause pain if ; Becomes large, Bleeds, Breaks open, During sexual intercourse, Twisted or torsion of ovarian cyst. Symptoms of ovarian cysts can also include: Bloating or swelling in the abdomen, Pain during bowel movements, Pelvic pain — constant, dull aching, Sudden and severe pelvic pain, often with nausea and vomiting, with torsion or twisting of the ovarian cyst.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, Fellowship in Laparoscopy, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Hello, that actually depends on her pregnancy duration. 3 months pregnancy is usually not terminated until or unless there is some gross defect in the baby or mother has some serious disease that she can not carry pregnancy. Better visit a local gynecologist who ll examine her first and then she ll tel you.

Which Face Wash Should I Use?

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Which Face Wash Should I Use?

This is a common question asked by people suffering from pimples.

  • For someone who is prone to pimples or who has just finished treatment it is important to use specific face washes as a preventive factor. A number of articles are written on the subject and several face washes and anti-acne bars are promoted by the media as well as the medical profession for treating acne/pimples.
  • For a person who is under medication for pimples would use tablets, creams and gels to keep the skin dry and prevent pimples. So face washes containing drying agents like Salicylic acid or glycolic acid will be beneficial as it would support the treatment. Do not use face washes or soaps containing moisturising substances and glycerine as they would add more oil to the skin.
  • After treatment of pimples is over from the doctor, it is better to continue using the drying face washes so that pimple causing bacteria do not accumulate on the skin.
  • For people who would not want to spend much on costly facewashes for a long period, using any non-moisturising soap will also do. This is because the substances contained in soaps/bars/gels/face washes etc. remain in contact for not more than 15-20 seconds on the skin.
