Everday evening I am feeling too depressed and I don' t know how to mean it and even my mind gets blank is there any solution for this problem please in from me it' s really like being in hell

Hypnotherapist, DCS, BSIC, Advanced Trainee of Transactional Analysis, Advanced Skills in Counselling
Psychologist,
Please meet a psychiatrist and a professional counsellor who will help you overcome your feelings of depression and blankness. It can be scary for some people and often need external support initially to help them on the path to recovery. What you can do meanwhile is that indulge in any activity which makes you happy and fulfilled and is meaningful and closer to your dreams of your future. Also do activities that relax you mentally and physically like yoga, meditation, gym, walking, hobbies etc. Keep in the company of cheerful and progressive people, who might help you to look at the brighter side of life and also look at problems objectively and a way to learn and grow in life rather than as a hurdle in your happiness. Take care of your diet, sleep, water intake as they play a big role in depression. Look for positive meaning in anything that has not worked out for you in your life. Every experience has a good and bad side to it. You need to see both and remember that in life there will be ups and downs and it' ll not be a smooth flowing life always. Take care. You can also see a homeopath or an ayurvedic doctor along with a counsellor.

You have nailed it yourself. Expectations" all regrets, guilt, fault finding is due to the belief that you are the captain of your ship! which you are not! can you give up this belief? it would be nice if you take a detailed counseling! all the best.

I am a love failure my girlfriend she just gone leaving me alone I am feeling very depressed what should I do please ...
You've not fallen in love; you always rise in love. Love is beautiful only when it is mutual or both ways. In your situation, she probably didn't love you enough or fell out of love; consider it her loss. Don't get these heavy words and feelings like "depressed" come your way. Remember, life goes on. I know it is easier said than done but Time is a Healer. You will get over her soon, you just need to make attempts and efforts to distract yourself, go out, meet friends, do activities you are passionate about. You have a long life and a true love awaiting you in future! Good luck :)

Dear , very nice to here that you quit smoking. Your body is in its repair mode. Even if you do not do any supplementary things, your body will be repaired within 6 months to 2 years which is depending on your length of smoking habit. Exercise, drinking enough water, lemon intake etc are good to clean the toxins in your system. Normal nutritious food is usually advised. Take care.

I'm a 10standard student. I'm forgetting everything that I study. Dr. please give me some suggestions.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
YOu try these steps. 10 Study Tips to Improve Your Learning Study Tip 1: Underlining Underlining is one of the simplest and best known study tips. It’s easy to highlight the most significant parts of what you’re reading. One key sentence per paragraph and a few important phrases here and there. You can only retain a certain amount so it’s best to retain the most important information. Study Tip 2: Make your own note and taking notes is one of the most widespread study skills out there. Essentially the aim of note-taking is to summarise lectures or articles in your own words so you can easily remember the ideas. Study Tip 3: Mind mapping A good Mind map can save you many hours of study and further consolidate your knowledge for your exams. Mind Maps are an extremely versatile tools. They can be used for brainstorming, outlining essays or study topics and for general exam preparation, ExamTime offers the ability to create Mind Maps quickly and easily which makes them the ideal tool when it comes to exams. Study Tip 4: Flash cards:- Using these are a particularly effective method of learning when trying to assimilate different facts, dates, formulas or vocabulary. Subjects such as History, Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Geography or any language are made much easier if you incorporate Flashcards in to your study. Study Tip 5: Case Studies Sometimes it can be difficult to grasp the implications of some theories. This is where studying case studies can be a big help. Case studies can help you visualise a theory and place it in a more familiar and realistic context. This is especially useful in business or law subjects. Study Tip 6: Quizzes are an excellent way to review study notes in the weeks and days before an exam. Quizzes can show where your strengths and weaknesses are, so it allows you to focus your efforts more precisely. Moreover, if you share your Study Quiz with your classmates and test each other as much as possible you can discover even more details and areas you may have overlooked. So before any exam, make sure you create and share a bunch of different Quizzes with your Friends. Study Tip 7: Brainstorming This is another study technique that is ideal for studying with friends and/or classmates. Brainstorming is a great way to expand every possible idea out of any topic. Just get a bunch of friends together and shoot the breeze, there are no wrong answers when brainstorming – just talk and capture the ideas, you can review afterward. Study Tip 8: Mnemonic Rules Mnemonics are especially useful when memorising lists and sets. Mnemonics rules basically work by associating certain concepts with other concepts that are more familiar to us. There are many different ways to make mnemonics and these can be individual to the person. Study Tip 9: ORGANISE your study One of the most effective study skills is also one of the most often overlooked; this is organising your study. Creating a TIME TABLE gives you goals and a time in which to achieve them. Having a study timetable as you study is greatly motivational Study Tip 10: Drawing Many people find it easier to recall images rather than text that is why they are better able to memorise concepts if they associate them with pictures or drawings. If you find answer helpful please click on “helpful” tab for knowing my efforts are useful CONCENTRATION TIPS Here’s some tips to get into a state of deep concentration where work / or studies flow easily so that you can do well in examinations/ and or do your work well. 1) Cut Off the Noise Getting into a state of concentration can take at least fifteen minutes. If you are getting distracted every five, you can’t possibly focus entirely on your work. Request that people don’t interrupt you when working on a big project. If you are required to answer phones and drop-in’s immediately, schedule work when the office is less busy. 2) Structure Your Environment The place you work can have an impact on your ability to focus. Try to locate yourself so you are facing potential distractions such as doors, phones or windows. This way you can take a glance to assess sounds that would otherwise break your focus. 3) Clarify Objectives Know what your goal is clearly before you start. If you aren’t sure what the end result is, the confusion will make it impossible to focus. 4) Divide Blobs. If you have a large project that needs work, clearly identify a path that you will use to get started working on it. If the sequence of actions isn’t obvious, it will be difficult to concentrate. Taking a few minutes to plan not only your end result, but the order you will complete any steps, can save hours in wasted thinking. 5) Know the Rules Get clear on what the guidelines are for the task ahead. What level of quality do you need? What standards do you need to follow? What constraints are there? If the rules aren’t clear from the outset, you will slip out of concentration as you ponder them later. 6) Set a Deadline Deadlines have both advantages and disadvantages when trying to force concentration. A deadline can make it easier to forget the non-essential and speed up your working time. If you give yourself only an hour to design a logo, you will keep it simple and avoid fiddling with extravagant designs. Time limits have disadvantages when they cause you to worry about the time you have left instead of the task itself. 7) Break down Roadblocks Roadblocks occur whenever you hit a tricky problem in your work. This can happen when you run out of ideas or your focus wavers. Break down roadblocks by brainstorming or planning on a piece of paper. Writing out your thought processes can keep you focused even if you might become frustrated. 8) Isolate Yourself Become a hermit and stay away from other people if you want to get work done. Unless your work is based on other people they will only break your focus. Create a private space and refuse to talk to anyone until your work is finished. Put a sign on your door to steer away drop-ins and don’t answer your phone. 9) Healthy Body, Sharper Mind What you put into your body affects the way you concentrate. Nobody would expect peak performance if they showed up drunk to work. But if you allow yourself to get chronic sleep deprivation, overuse stimulants like caffeine or eat dense, fatty foods your concentration will suffer. Try to cut out one of your unhealthy habits for just thirty days to see if there is a difference in your energy levels. I’ve found even small steps can create dramatic changes in my ability to focus. 10) Be Patient Before I write an article, I often sit at my desk for a fifteen or twenty minutes before I put finger on the keyboard. During this time I feel a strong urge to leave or do something else. But I know that if I am patient, I’ll stumble upon an idea to write about and enter a state of flow. Without a little patience, you can’t take advantage of flow when it rushed through you. If you need strong concentration I recommend periods of 90-120 minutes. Any less than that and you will waste too much time getting started before the flow can continue. More than this is possible to sustain focus, but you will probably benefit from a quick break. These are the general guidelines for concentration, studying well or doing your job. Regards.

Hi, heart patients can take same homemade foods as other members. Only thing they should do is not to add extra salts at the table, food should be prepared with less oil, should contain more of green vegetables. Drinking sufficient waters if not advised restriction is also good.

I am 57 years old, asthmatic, diabetic with psychiatric problems. I am taking ayurvedic treatment for asthma and Theo-asthalin 1-0-1 as a backup. I also use Asthalin inhaler and Budecort inhaler regularly and hence the attacks are under control. For a mild attack I use Albutamol tabs 1-1-1 for three days and I get relief. If there is an acute attack, inhalers do not work. Then I use a nebulizer with Asthalin and Budecort respules and get good relief. If there is an infection, like having fever, then only I rush to a doctor, who will put me on an anti-biotic (azithromycin 500 mg 1-0-1 for 5 days), bronchodilator syrup, a de-constant and paracetamol for fever. At the present moment, I am free from attacks even though the weather in Bangalore is un-predictable. Due to the history of 57 years of asthma, my lungs are not functioning to its full capacity and hence I feel doing breathing exercises a bit tiresome, even though I am on it. During an asthmatic attack, I usually sweat, probably due to the fact that enough oxygen is not supplied to my body. Once, the attacks are controlled, sweating disappears and I will be able to do my day to day duties without any problem. But this malady has certainly made me handicapped and my moments and activities are restricted. Ayurvedic medicines are of great help to me. Coming to my psychiatric problem - I am having Depression, Anxiety and Schizophrenia. For depression cum anxiety I am taking Venlor XR 150 mg 1-0-0, Mirtaz 15 mg 0-0-1 and Clonazepam 0.25 mg 1-0-1. The symptoms are under control. For Schizophrenia I am taking Sizodon plus 0-0-1 and Sizopin 0-0-1. The symptoms are under control. There is a certain relationship between my asthma and my psychiatric illness. I get asthmatic attacks usually when I am disturbed and depressed. This is due to the fact that I lost my mother at an young age and was brought up by my grand father whose death in 1986 meant a trigger for asthma. Once, I took psychiatric treatment in 1987, the attacks became less frequent. Is my asthma psycho-somatic in nature? Please advice. Do the above mentioned anti-psychotic drugs trigger an attack and which of them are habit forming? Please confirm.

Well, thanks for seeking help and I appreciate the way you detailed your issues out. It seems, your asthma is controlled with conventional medicines. Your occasional depression/ anxiety attacks, despite the symptoms being majorly in control, could be triggering your asthma attacks. I do empathize with your irreparable losses. Life does present us with varied challenges which sometimes are unpleasant to deal with. We, however, need to take every challenge that we are faced with, positively and think it as being an opportunity life has bestowed upon us mostly to evolve us and bring the best out of us. You certainly have dealt with this challenge and moved forward in life already. I would hereby advise you to think positive, visualize pleasant stuff, de-stress regularly and stay relaxed. This practice will not only help avert and reduce the incidences of future asthma attacks but also help you be in self control while an attack has precipitated. Also, learning well & practicing yogasanas like'bhujangasana'savasana' and pranayams like'kapalbhati'anulom-viloma'bhramari' etc all on a daily basis are highly beneficial in this condition unless advised otherwise by your consulting doc. Simultaneously, make sure your diet/ nutrition, lifestyle including bowel habits etc all are streamlined. Its advisable to eat in moderation and less than your full capacity than eating to your full. Try avoiding tea, coffee, spices, chillies, pickles, extremely hot & cold/ chilled foods generally. Do consume citrus fruits/ vegetables rich in vitamin c as they help strengthen your immunity. Warm saline gargling, at least once daily, shall help protect you from throat related afflictions that often trigger asthma in certain people. Mostly, fresh air, dry climate, regular exercise go a long way in helping avert precipitation of an attack. Daily consumption of ginger tea helps a lot, unless you are allergic to it. Inhaling the scent of honey during an asthma attack helps breathe easier too. Having said the above-mentioned, you must continue with your allopathic medications as already advised by your doc and attempt the natural remedies as suggested by me above, only as an adjunct or complement to the ongoing conventional treatment. Hope the above-mentioned helps. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely, Dr. Pritam (nd) bbsr.

Health Consequences of Smoking 3 Cigarettes A Day

Health Consequences of Smoking 3 Cigarettes A Day

Smoking can cause irreparable damage to your mind and body. Chemicals in the tobacco travel to all parts of the body, leaving no area unaffected. According to available data, smoking causes 30% of all cancer deaths and about 80% deaths from emphysema and bronchitis. In addition to adversely affecting yourself, smoking also has a severe impact on your near and dear ones. According to WHO, about 600,000 people die every year from passive smoking. Out of the deaths that occur due to this, 1/3rd is that of children.

The Indian situation
While 85% of tobacco users worldwide consume it in the form of cigarettes, in India only 13% use it in that form. Additionally, 54% use it in the form of beedis. A study conducted on Indian smokers has revealed that an average of 8.2 cigarettes is smoked by an individual daily.

The study also revealed that the number of cigarettes smoked every year had grown to over 6 trillion. While 1 out of 10 adults dies from tobacco use worldwide, 5% of deaths in women and 20% of deaths in men in India are caused by cigarette and beedi smoking.

What happens when you smoke?
Cigarette smoke is made up of 4000 chemicals that are present either as tiny particles or gases and about 50 are known to lead to cancer, the toxin nicotine being one of them. In addition to nicotine, the chemicals that make up cigarette smoke also include tar and carbon monoxide. Prolonged exposure to these toxins can hamper your body's ability to filter air and clean the lungs. The smoke not only irritates the lungs but also causes excess production of mucus.

It also causes a paralysis of the tiny hair-like structures like cilia that line the airways and are responsible for removing dust and dirt from the organ. Paralysis of these hair-like structures also causes a buildup of mucus and toxic substances, leading to lung congestion. The extra mucus that is produced causes smokers to suffer from the very ubiquitous smoker's cough and chronic bronchitis.

It's also one of the many triggers of asthma, which brings about the narrowing and inflammation of the airways. Long-term exposure to tobacco smoke causes the destruction of the structure of the lung, walls of the airways as well as lung tissue. The result is a condition known as emphysema. Additionally, smoking also leads to cancer of the lung and over 80% lung cancer cases occur due to this habit. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a pulmonologist.

Hello, Vitamin B12 supplements helps to relieve anxiety. It is also available in eggs, and lean meat, mushrooms and to some extent sprouts. Hello doctor! I'm 20 years old and i'm in a relationship from past 2 years with a boy. Though there had been many ups and downs in our relationship but this guy as promised never left me alone. He loves me a lot and does so much for me but he used to have a very bad cannabis addiction but it was not a big deal for me. He left everything for me . But then he again started it for a week. And then again left all that because I left him. Both our families know somewhat about us. But the guy has very bad image. Every other person comes and says bad about him that He's only using Me and about his past. I had straight away talked to him about it also but that's all ok. whenever we get intimate after that I get the feeling that He's only using me. Every little action of his like not talking on phone immediately for some reason it all makes Me feel so sad. I get very depressed as i'm not again able to trust him completely on that he will completely leave the cannabis though he has promised me. He meets me everyday and on phone call as well doesn't go to his friends for me. But still I feel very insecure. It feels that he will leave me. He is not listening to my problems and keeps on telling that he has headache after sex and all that. He lows I feel such way he tries to convince me but my mind doesn't makes up. Please help.

You are doing well by confronting him every time you hear something. This sounds like an open relationship, which is really good. When people say something about hi9m it will cause a lot of doubt and so there will be mistrust in the relationship and that is bad. Neither should you ignore what people say because not all of them will lie. Therefore, weigh the facts and cross-examine him and read between the lines of his answers. Because you are in love, you will tend to believe him readily and that is why they say that love is blind. My concern in the first place is why you were attracted to a guy who is addicted to cannabis? The answer to this question is to look inside and see if you felt a strong mothering instinct towards him. If that is the case, believe me, there will be a lot of problems in the future. He has to come clean and not abstain from the substance whenever you threaten him. Unfortunately, there is a double bind: if you leave him now he will definitely go back to marijuana; and if you stayed with him he may play games around all this and still be an addict. Your relationship should be strongly based on good and sound principles, which I feel are not fully present. So have a serious talk with him with an ultimatum that he ahs to not only give up his addiction but also make some serious changes in his life to alter his addictive personality. For this, he should go for addiction counseling and work on his susceptibility. When that counselor can give you some assurances, you can perhaps take the risk. You will need a third person's assurance to prevent the easy influence of being blind at this point. So when too many people talk about him in a bad way, then you know that there is no smoke without a fire!!! Think about all this, talk to him constructively and if he truly loves and also wants to change his personality through therapy, you can go forward always under the approval of the counselor.
