Yooji, diet for a diabetes patient is very individualised and specific. It is based on ideal body weight, sugar levels and extent of daily exercises. So unless all the details are given no diet can be prescribed. I need to know fasting and pp sugar levels, hba1c%, dietary pattern lipid profile, extent of daily exercise. It is better if you come in a private conversation with all the details, where I can give a specific plan.

Eating salmon fish will help in reducing your body weight as it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. • Make it a point to eat two to three servings of salmon in a week as it has very low fat when compared to red meat. • Salmon help in burning fat faster in your body and will also help in boosting metabolism. • But, you should never have fried salmon. Eat roasted, grilled or baked salmon instead.

You can't lose 10 kgs in a week, same way I didn't gain all this weight in a week. As you are young you can easily lose wght if you follow customized diet plans for weight loss. For time being add 1spoon isabgol in your rotis and triphala powder soaked overnight in water have it in morning and night and avoid spicy junk fry foods and do 30 mints of exercise in the day. Hye. Thank you for your query. There are many ways to lose a lot of weight fast. However, most of them will make you hungry and unsatisfied. If you don’t have iron willpower, then hunger will cause you to give up on these plans quickly plus all you lose is unhealthy muscle mass and the fats are still around. Eating sensibly and as per your body's nutrient needs will reduce your appetite significantly, Make you lose weight healthily without hunger and improve your metabolic health at the same time. Here are some tips to help you lose weight. Eat a high-protein breakfast. Eating a high-protein breakfast has been shown to reduce cravings and calorie intake throughout the day. Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice. These are the most fattening things you can put into your body, and avoiding them can help you lose weight. Drink water a half hour before meals. Drinking water a half hour before meals increased weight loss by suppressing appetite and avoiding overeating. Choose seasonal foods. Eat smaller but more frequent meals. Eat soluble fiber. Eat fruits and vegetables. Eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods. Base most of your diet on whole foods. They are healthier, more filling and much less likely to cause overeating. Eat your food slowly. Fast eaters gain more weight over time. Eating slowly makes you feel more full and boosts weight-reducing hormones. Use smaller plates. Studies show that people automatically eat less when they use smaller plates. Get a good night’s sleep, every night. Poor sleep is one of the strongest risk factors for weight gain, so taking care of your sleep is important. It is best to do some sort of resistance training. If that is not an option, cardio workouts work too. Workout at least 4 times a week to see good fat loss.

Weight gain is muscle gain. In your condition your energy requirement is very high so whatever you eat is used as a source of energy and you do not make muscle. To gain muscles you will have to eat at least 6 meals (high calorie) in a day at a regular interval with a proper ratio of proteins and carbohydrates. Proteins will help you gain body mass while carbohydrates will help you give energy. Protein foods are eggs, fish, chicken, milk and milk products, meat and dals. Carbohydrate foods are roti and rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes. You have to eat vegetables and fuits and use healthy and good fats for cooking like ghee, cold pressed mustrad or til oil. You will also have to do some weight training exercise to help you build mass into the body. Also drink enough water to keep you hydrated.

Yes.. Push ups is a good form of exercise. It tones your hands, arms, shoulders, back and abs. 100 push ups a day is a good level you have achieved. You can increase the number of sets from one set of 20 to two sets with breaks in between.. There is no upper limit.. It is upto to you.. how many you want to do.. what you want to achieve ... how much time you have... However it is better to do different exercises and focus on building strength and stamina and flexibility in every part of your body. Therefore keep doing different varieties of exerices.. For eg.. Mon - Weights Tue - Running Wed - Arms & Shoulders Thu- Cycling...etc.. you can work out your own variety of schedule.... As for diet.. refer to other answers ... All the best!

My amylase test returned value of267.1u/l. The reference range is given as 30-118 u/l. I do not have any other symptoms. Please advice.

Dear , why did the Dr. Ask for an amylase test. What were the symptoms? amylase is increased in pancreatic disease and also the diseases of the salivary gland. Please check for p type or s type amylase levels to differentiate. There may many other non specific reasons for high amylase a gradual approach towards diagnosis is needed. Kindly consult with all your reports.

Follow these best tips to get in shape and loose weight.* body become over weight due to deposition of fatty tissues. First you should follow diet plan for weight loss. * in morning, take 2-3 chapattis witha bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of without cream milk after 2 hour of breakfast. *in lunch you can take a bowl of soupor salad. *in evening, you can take a cup of teawith glucose biscuits. *in dinner, you can take a bowl of fruits or 2 chapattis with a bowl of vegetables. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. To reduce the tummy, * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * lie down on plain surface, put your hands on the back of head by folding your elbows, now move your head towads the knees try to touch your knees with forehead and then move back and lie down. Repeat it for 5-10 times daily for flat tummy. * do surya namaskar yoga everyday, as surya namaskar have 12 forms of yoga. Do it for in morning everyday to get in shape in short period. * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories. * you can take medohar guggal of baidyanath 1 tablet daily for atleast 3 months but only under the supervision of ayurveda expert.

Hi, you can take homeopathic medicine calc carb 200 3 doses, phytollaca 4 tabs twice a day and along this do daily exercise jumping and watch8 mins abs workout and eat apple empty stomach, avocado, drink lots of wtaer, drink greentea, drink luke lemon wtaer by mixing crushed ginger with it and always eat chew bites many times and avoid junks, fast, sugary, oily food.

Carbohydrates less than 750 mg/kg body weight / day is the ideal diet that is if a person is 60 kg he should not take more than 45 gms of carbohydrates every day.

Dear lybrate user, one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the blood stream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Benefits and Risks of Giving Birth in Water

Water birth, as revolutionary as it might sound, is not a bad idea. Common in the European countries like Australia and New Zealand, many birth centres in the United States have also started installing water birth tubs. It is the process of giving birth in a warm water tub, which is said to ease the process. The logic behind this goes that since the baby stays in the mother's womb for nine months in a water sac, therefore, birthing in a similar environment is better for the baby and less complex. Many obstetricians believe that this also prevents any kind of foetal complications. 

There are both benefits and risk of water birth. They are as follows:

Benefits of water birth: 
Water labour and water birth has the following advantages for the mother and the baby.

For the mother:

  1. The warm water provides mobility and comfort to the mother. The mother is also at a spontaneous position in water to change her location and deliver the baby.
  2. Pressure on the abdomen is decreased. Buoyancy helps in the efficient contraction of the uterine walls and it improves blood circulation, which again gives better supply of oxygen to the uterine muscles. The baby is provided with sufficient amount of oxygen while the mother endures lesser pain.
  3. Birthing in water helps in conservation of energy on part of the mother. The immersion helps to reduce collision with gravity and gives support to the mother's weight. This energy produced helps in coping with the uterine muscle contractions.
  4. The process of labour becomes more productive as it gives relaxation to the mother. While the mother calms down in the water, her hormones start working better and in turn the process is accelerated. The water also helps in soothing the pelvic muscles.
  5. The immersion helps in lowering the level of blood pressure and in reducing anxiety.
  6. Stress is hugely reduced as the mother is at ease and this helps in producing endorphins that serve as pain inhibitors.

For the baby:

  1. The baby gets a similar environment as the amniotic sac which helps in the birthing process gets added support.
  2. The stress of birth is greatly reduced.

Risks of water birth:

  1. There remains a risk of water embolism that is when the water enters into the mother's bloodstream.
  2. If the mother has herpes, this practice should not be followed as herpes spreads in water faster.
  3. This should be avoided in case of excessive bleeding and any kind of maternal infection. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

You can take a glass of lemon water with it *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15 minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running.
