4 effective tips for improving your eyesight

You'd be shocked to know that 1/3rd of the blind people of the world are Indians, which amounts to about 15 million people in India alone. Moreover, the risk of cataract is also high in India, with about 3 million people developing this condition, annually. Even the number of people with power in their eyes in India has gone up considerably. Thus, proper eye care is the need of the hour.

Here are some useful tips to maintain your eyesight, while improving your overall eye health.

1. Ensure that your eyes remain hydrated
You can do so by drinking the standard 8-10 glasses of water a day. Moreover, opting for a pair of sunglasses having a UV filter also proves to be useful in this regard. The reason behind is that sunglasses prevent the wind from robbing the moisture away from your eyes. Alternatively, you can ask an optometrist to prescribe a simple saline solution to hydrate your eyes and give them a soothing feel.

2. Don't keep looking at the computer screen continuously
Staring at the computer screen for a long time at a stretch can affect your eyes negatively. So, implement the 20/20/20 rule into your daily routine. According to this rule, you should remove your gaze from the computer screen every 20 minutes and then direct your vision towards an object kept at a distance of 20 feet for 20 seconds. This break helps your eyes to relax and refocus, consequently avoiding the occurrence of blurry vision.

3. Give your body a balanced diet and correct amount of sleep
Ensure that your daily diet contains green, leafy vegetables and fruits and food rich in antioxidants. These food products help in improving your vision to a large extent. Moreover, sleep for around eight hours every night to prevent eyestrain.

4. Make it a daily habit to perform eye exercises
The most effective technique to naturally improve your eyesight is performing eye exercises. Regular eye exercises not only enhance your vision but also give strength to your eyes.

Here's a simple exercise you can try. This works by applying heat to your eyes in order to relax them. For this, you can rub your palms together till they become warm and then place them on your eyes. Let your palms remain there for 10 seconds and then open your eyes.

It is also very important that you take care of your existing health problems like diabetes, hypertension, neurological problems or allergies and be regular with exercising such that it keeps your body fit and does not bear any impact on other organs like eyes.

Hello, It's good to reduce weight at right time as many problems are directly related to overweight! Pain in legs can be related to obesity, so first reduce weight and see the difference or else revert. Go through the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: Management: 1: Drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: Be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: Enjoy your favorite foods. 4: Have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: Do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous). Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. Preferably brisk walking, swimming, cycling, skipping. 6: Eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: Eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: Choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: Cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: Don't skip meals. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: Eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. Food sold at restaurants is commonly much higher in fat, sodium, and other weight-loss killers. 12: Give yourself a treat now and then. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. 13: Go for a health walk. Gear up yourself daily for a health walk which not only shed off your extra calorie, but also reduces the stress levels. 14: Take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between as sitting for long hours together encourages the accumulation of fat in the body! I am 29 years old female, im suffering from severe neck and head pain. MRI scan report shows I have nodes in neck and L4 AND L5 discs, recently biopsy is done to rule out what exactly the node is, but this report is negative and shows an infection only, what kind of infection is not observed. I have used antibiotics and pain killers, but it is not cured completely, I don't understand whom to consult and what to do for this pain kindly suggest me.

urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Priyanka ji you have not mentioned about your height weight eating pattern, daily routine to know your lifestyle better. For the time you can take low fat low carbohydrate, high fibre diet. Keep proper hydration Do regular exercise atleast for 50 mnts daily to keep yourself fit. Gall bladder hampers your fat absorption and digestion not impacting our weight. Hello, you can apply baking soda over it or do baking soda in water mouth rinses. This will help to heal ulcers. If they still persist, you need to consult a physician and get your Vitamin B level checked. If required, take supplements for it.

Mr. lybrate-user you should evaluate yourself watch your activity daily in respect of life style, hindrance in your routine life due to family members, school teacher, friends both male and female, your relationship with girl friend any personal sexual problem, monetary problem etc. And try to resolve it without taking any stress deal it as a challenge you yourself find solution and resolve. Nowadays lot of importance given for life style changes. First u find out in what circustances you will have cold try to avoid that,similarly plenty of things it will come to your mind by that you go on changing. You practice Yoga,pranayama, meticulouly, develop a very displined life for eg: timely food (limited not allergic to any type of food) Drink enough water ( 3-5 Liters) of water Take 1L of water on empy stomach & go for a walk for one hour. Continuous usage of system will efect eyes aswell back also. So tha you need to take few precautions toavoid bad effects. Take gap b/w work, for every 1-2 hrs, sit in erect position, keep system at particular distance, sit comfortable with right position of system. Use anti glare glasses ether you wear r put on screen. Wash your eyes with cold water whenever you feel strained. Keep keera{raw cucumber slices]over eyes, which will help to redce the strain aswell blackening around eyes, take proper rest/sleep, practice pranayama, yoga. Eat few soaked peeled off almonds daily. Take 3-4 litres of water daily irrespective of your thirst. Eat right food at right timngs, eat carrot, beet root, more green leafy veg, curry leaves, fruits.
