In slipped disc. There will be pain and numbness in lowback which extend down to buttocks ,thigh and to lower leg. There will pin and needle sensation in leg. Pain aggravates by standing and prolong sutting. Etc.

It is seen with meniscus tear. Get a mri scan of your knee at best centre with 3 tesla machine. That will show the pathology and then treatment can be advised.

Hello, this type of pain is may be due to overweight or deficiency of vitamin d3 and calcium or due to poor posture. Till then follow these advice:- 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Avoid squatting and weight bearing activities. 4. Use western toilet. 5. Wear shock absorbing, good quality of shoes while walking. 6. Keep roll of a towel under your knees while sleeping. 7. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before getting out of your bed. 8. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. I will explain you stiffness and pain reducing techniques in the next session. Wish you a happy and pain free life thanks.

Do hot fomentation, Go for morning walk if required with stick. Get your blood tested for hemogram, sugar, uric acid, thyroid and vitamin D3, to rule out anemia, infection, diabetes, thyroid, gout and vitamin D deficiency.

My father has O.A. Knee jts - both. Whenever he gets pain, he goes to physio and take diathermy. He gets relief, again after a month or two, he gets pain, again he goes to physio. Treatment repeats. Tell me are there any side effects of short wawe diathermy?

Dear lybrate-user, regular exercise is required for all knee related problem, muscle strength is very important when it come to the stabily of the knee. I guess he will not be able to bend his knee to the full range. But one he starts to do strengthen, he can feel the difference.

In this case only tikta ksheer basti can be tried. How much beneficial it will be can't be said. But if soe hope is there, it is this only along with oral asthi pachak medicines.

I am 28 year old male. I do weightlifting exercise at home. Not regularly but almost 6 months in a year. From few days I am not able to lift weight due to backache. Even the pain starts when I bend in front. So I am not doing exercise now. After some time when I feel like normal. I gain tried to lifts weight and the pain started again. Rest for few days. Build your stamina gradually. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and manual therapy will help in pain free movement. Stiffness & pain in back & other joints is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello in medical term the sound you are mentioning Is crepitus. There are reasons for the sound. Can be due to tendon tear, bony arthritis, fluid accumulation etc. Simple exercises of shoulder should be started. However goal of the treatment can be decided only with proper investigation.

Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. It must be investigated. Get a mri of the knee. You would probably need arthroscopic knee surgery. It is a very safe procedure in our hands with uniformly good results. We have very good well equipped center in delhi. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don? t ignore it lest it become beginning of a bigger problem.

Hi I am 63 years old and having pain in the right knee (diagnosed as reduction of space) am also over weight (90 kg). Doctors tell me to reduce weight. But the orthopayic had asked me to rest. If I rest I cannot reduce weight. So I on my own decided to walk everyday. I walk 5 - 6 km daily. While walking I use knee cap and do not feel psin unless leg bends side ways, but while sleeping I do get pain on the left side of the knee (bearable though). I do take biocart-msm 1 tablet one daily, triflex fast acting two daily, and apply celadrin cream 2 - 3 times on the affected knee. Suggest exercises to get rid of the knee pain.

There can be multiple reasons. Please meet an Ortho doctor. He may ask for neck X ray and vit D levels. Please dont ignore if pain is severe or persistent.

I have developed back ache and stiffness at hip region only in morning hours, once I take hot water bath it subsides, may be becoz I am using my Bike for the past 26 yrs with a weak suspensions, but so far I have not taken any pain killers or medication, can you pls suggest me some simple excercises!

If the reports are normal you need to do few flexibility exercises along with core and back muscle strengthening exercises twice a day for 15 to 20 days. This will improve you back strength and flexibility and pain will be relieved soon. Take care.
