Treatment of submucous fibrosis depends upon the severity of class like class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Class 1 and 2 are beginning stages and can be treated with some medicine and exercises. Class 2 and 3 are moderate stages and can be treated with medicine, exercise and steriods and class 5 is severe stage and requires surgery. Sub mucous fibrosis is a pre cancerous lesion and requires long term treatment and requires lot of patience and life style modification in which you have to stop any habit of eating /smoking tobacco in any form. Even nicotine patches are also not advisable. So consult you dentist for your treatment.

Dentist,
Is frequent tooth cleaning at clinic is safe for long term health concerns.
Hi cleaning, bleaching and scaling should not be repeated before 6 months, frequent cleaning can damage enamel layer. Brush regularly two times daily. Rinse your mouth after each meal. Floss your tooth to prevent food impaction. These are simole tips, if you follow these properly you can improve your oral hygiene and will not require frquent cleaning.

Pregnancy and Your Dental Health

BDS
Dentist, Faridabad
Pregnancy and Your Dental Health

Pregnancy may bring a glow to your face, but can affect your dental health quite adversely. Thus it is important to pay attention to your dental care routine and visit your dentist regularly for checkups. Most of the changes in your dental health are due to hormonal surges that occur during pregnancy.

  1. Pregnancy and plaque buildup: Pregnancy can aggravate gum diseases like gingivitis. This is caused by the buildup of plaque on the teeth and is characterized by red, swollen and bleeding gums. Pregnancy gingivitis affects of majority of pregnant women. If left untreated, it can lead to a more serious condition known as periodontitis. The swelling of gums can also trigger the development of pregnancy tumours and non-cancerous growths. These tumours will usually subside on their own after delivery. However, if they interfere with eating or your dental care routine, your dentist may advise you to get it removed. A link has also been suggested between gingivitis and the delivery of premature babies by triggering the production of prostaglandins that induce an early delivery.
  2. What to keep in mind while visiting the dentist: Regular dental checkups are as important as your gynecological checkups. Be open with your dentist and let him know the status of your pregnancy. Dental visits are recommended in the first, second and third trimester of pregnancy. At your visit, the dentist will assess the condition of your teeth and suggest an oral care routine. Getting your teeth regularly cleaned can prevent the buildup of plaque and lower your chances of suffering from gingivitis. Regular fillings and non emergency procedures can be performed during pregnancy. However, the best time to undergo any dental procedure if you are pregnant is between the 4th and 6th month. Avoid X-rays unless in cases of emergencies when pregnant. If you need to take any form of medication or need to put under anesthesia, consult your gynecologist about the procedure. Wherever possible, try and postpone dental treatment till after delivery.
  3. Brushing while pregnant: Along with brushing your teeth regularly, it is also important to use the right toothpaste when pregnant. Choose fluoride toothpastes and mouthwashes for your daily routine. Rinsing your mouth with mouthwash can also help curb morning sickness and erase its distaste from your mouth. Flossing can also help keep your teeth healthy. Along with this, include plenty of vitamin C and B12 in your diet to prevent dental problems.

I am suffering from tooth ache please choose me correct medicine.
You must get an iopa (tooth xray) it can confirm if you actually have an underlying cause to pain. Sometimes a soft tissur injury in the oral cavity or food lodgement around tooth gum can lead to pain. A plain analgesic can help you for sometime but a thorough checkup is necessary.

As per your complain it likes to be generalized attrition shayd apke sare dat uppar se ghis gae lagte hain due to aging or habit of bruxism and tobacco products chewing. The other reason is effect due to severe heavy hard brushing causing wearing of teeth leads to sensitivity use Colgate sensitive pro relief and ch-x mouthwash for 1 month if it still persist then go for full mouth rehabilitation in which doctor does rct in all your hypersensitive teeth followed by capping.

I have a large ulcer on my tongue from 1 week. Difficult to eat and drink & Painful.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
there are so many causes of mouth ulcers like- -Stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple mouth ulcers. -Certain foods, including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes and strawberries), can trigger a mouth ulcer. -Sometimes a sharp tooth surface also trigger mouth ulcers. -Some cases of complex mouth ulcers are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin B-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency and heat in stomach. . Usually ulcer heals by itself only within 1 week. You can take 'Becosule capsule' once in a day for 1 week for faster recovery. Temporarily you can apply mucopain gel over ulcer for relief..

I have bad breathing problem. I tried my level best to get rid of it but this is still existing. Its quite irritating.

I have bad breathing problem. I tried my level best to get rid of it but this is still existing. Its quite irritating.
Hi lybrate-user. I can understand your problem. But you need to understand that your bad breath has not developed in one day so it will not go in a day treatment. You hav to take lillte extra care for the cleanliness of your mouth. For the initial treatment, you need to go for scaling procedure. After your mouth is cleaned properly, proper maintenance is required. These r few points you need to absolutely follow for dental care:- 1. Rinse your mouth properly every time after you take food. 2. Do not allow any food particles to accumulate in between your teeth. To prevent this, use dental floss. 3. Brush your teeth twice daily (morning and before night sleep) with proper brushing technique. 4. Use mouthwash. 5. If you take cigarettes or tobacco, you hav to quit it. Every 6 months you should go for a dental check up to review your problem. Thank you.
