Hi There, Dementia is a progressively deteriorating condition where there are memory problems along with the language, gait and also behavioral problems (sometimes psychosis as well.). All that we can do at this juncture, is stop the dementia from further worsening with the help of drugs and also control the behavior with the tablets. Surgery should be the last resort, though it is not usually recommended.

Hi, I can imagine what you might be going through, but there are certain things which we, as normal human beings, need to remember. As human beings, we tend to cope with constant changes, by building new relationships at different stages in our life. However the priority keeps changing continuosly, like for example, a girl before her marriage gives utmost importance to her family. Whereas after marriage, her husband and children become her top priority, and this is the dictum. Similarly for you also the priorities should change and should start building new and healthy relationships with your friends at study or work place and you should make every effort to divert your attention and these feelings of insecurity. Remember that the basic human survival mechanism is based on the ability to adapt to changes, the failure of which will lead to mental unrest. Try to keep yourself as busy as possible and be surrounded by as many friends and other family members as possible. If it seems impossible to overcome this problem, then there is more to this problem and probably it needs to be dealt by a professional, either a psychiatrist or a counsellor.

Hi there, first of all, you realised that you have a problem and it needs to be attended to, is a good sign and shows your interest in life. You are in a transition phase of your life from adolescent to adulthood. This stage involves stress and worry about future and career descisions and also establishing an identity for yourself in the society. You would sometimes feel that no one, including your parents understand you. There would be hormonal surge that may cause intense mood swings along with being very irritable. Whatever may be the cause, there is help around. You can consult a professional and discuss all the aspects with them and resolve the issue now itself so that your future road would be hopefully smooth.

Hi, I understand how frustrating it can be, but there is hope. We have nicotine replacement therapy in the form of nicotine gums or lozenges. Nicotine gums are available over the counter without any prescription. It occurs in two strengths, 2mg and 4mg. You can take each gum in every 1-2 hrs for 6 weeks and every 2-4 hrs for next 3 weeks and subsequently twice daily for another 3 weeks before slowly tapering it. All this should be done only if you stopped smoking completely. However a lot of motivation is required throughout the process. It would be apt if this is carried out in a proper clinical set up under the guidance of a professional where other comorbid issues can be taken care of.

Hi, I think you can try yoga and also walking for at least 45mins in a day, as that will boost the serotonin levels (whose deficiency might cause depression) in the brain. You can also try progressive muscle relaxation techniques where you work towards relaxing all the groups of muscles gradually one after another.

Hi, I think lack of quality sleep and excessively thinking about certain things could be your problem. Some lifestyle modifications like yoga and good diet can help you. Try avoiding computer or laptop usage for prolonged periods of time. Stop watching t. V or listening to music atleast 1 hr before going to sleep. Eat your dinner atleast 2 hrs before sleep. Drink a glass of hot milk as it naturally induces sleep. Inspite of all the above measures, you condition remains the same, then probably you need some professional help.

Hi, females usually have plenty of mood swings due to hormonal imbalances, especiallly during this age. Apart from this, if there are some stressors like family issues, love issues, or stress at the office, which you are finding difficult to handle, you need to share them with either your friends or family and try to sort out the things with them. Make sure your work is not affected. In case your problem is slowly affecting your work, then probably you need some professional help.
