My teeth has not that much stronger so that what is the solution can I take for it?
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedures. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Please visit a dentist. He will tell the the cause of the tooth ache and also give you medication for the pain and infection. Since you are only eleven years old, try to visit a pedodontist (childrens dentist) and do not take medication without consulting a doctor.

I'm 22, male. I have pain in my tooth while I eat sweets. I think I may have cavities but there is nothing visible. Could you say me what is the problem and what is the cure? Also I had body lice which has currently gone but not 100%. I did not take any treatment but those reduced because of neem. What should I do to remove it completely? I think there may be some hidden in my head. Will that be possible and what will the cure for it?

The sensetivity in your teeth may either be due to loss of tooth enamel or dental caries (cavities). You can try using an over the counter desensetizing paste for 15 days. If the sensetivity continues or gets worse you should consult your neighbourhood dentist.

Respected doctor. Is it true that teeth cleaning and polishing weakens them and creates gaps between tooth. Thanks.

Respected doctor. Is it true that teeth cleaning and polishing weakens them and creates gaps between tooth. Thanks.
Hi mah, cleaning and polishing does not weaken your teeth. Gaps are created by the debris which forms inbetween the teeth. so when we remove the debris it is seen as gaps.

I got a wisdom tooth but it has not completely come out as there is no space for it to come out as its covered with gums. Due to that got pus as well as swelling. I consulted few dentist & they said to remove the tooth n a surgery is required as they have to cut the bone.

Wisdom teeth which are not fully erupted in the mouth due to lack of space can get infected. They need to be surgically removed by cutting the tooth into pieces. Bone removal if required should be minimum. For further details, you may consult me.

Hello Mr. Lybrate-user, blackening of teeth is because of deposition of plaque. You need to brush properly on all surfaces of teeth twice a day and start using a mouthwash once a day for a month. It will be good if you get scaling done once.

Dear Lybrate user, you seem to be suffereing from a painful and irritable tooth condition known as "Pericoronitis" which implies the inflammation of the soft tissue cover around a partially erupted crown of a tooth (wisdom tooth/third molar). It would be prudent for you to get the tooth extracted under able supervision of an expert General Dentist or a more specialized Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. The doctor would require an X-Ray (called an Intra-Oral Peri-Apical Radiograph or may be an OPG) before deciding on the fate of the tooth. You should not delay the treatment and plan to get the tooth extracted soon after the initial infection and inflammation, considerably subside. Meanwhile do some lukewarm-saltwater mouth rinses 3-4 times/day and eat a soft and non-spicy diet. Be well!

Brush twice a day and floss daily even when your braces are on. The food particles get stuck into the braces very easily. It is very important to keep them clean.

Vigorous brushing with a hard bristled toothbrush can lead to gums becoming weak and result in sensitivity. I recommend to use ultra-soft toothbrush to avoid trauma from faulty brushing.Visit your dentist and learn the proper brushing techniques.

Irregular brushing technique will certainly cause the gums to bleed. Bleeding may also be due to infected & swollen gums. Advise investigation (OPG x-ray) with clinical examination for the treatment to check for bone loss & pockets. Adv. artificial enamel filling, deep cleaning or surgical curettage, a gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

My mother fell and cracked a vertebrae. She has osteoporosis. She was given a brace but it doesn't seem to be helping. Is there any treatment for this?

Osteoporotic vertebral fractures usually become painless by 4 to 6 weeks as the fracture heals. Medicines, rest and brace are initial treatment. Sometimes the fracture doesn't heal well and pain persists. Vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty are the procedures usually done in such situation for pain relief. They are minimally invasive as bone cement is injected into the fractured vertebra through a needle. These procedures give immediate pain relief. You must see a spine surgeon to see if it is suitable for her. Medical treatment for osteoporosis should go on at the same time.

For how much time bridge replacement for 3 teeth last (the cheaper ones around 1500 per teeth).

For how much time bridge replacement for 3 teeth last (the cheaper ones around 1500 per teeth).
Hi lybrate-user How long a bridge lasts depends upon what sort of a bridge it is, and how it is used and maintained. The most frequent cause of bridges failing are 1. Ceramic chipping off the metal coping in case of metal-ceramic bridges. This might happen after several years, but may happen earlier if your diet includes lot of tough, chewy, sticky foods, or, if you have a habit of grinding your teeth. 2. Decay or gum disease affecting the adjacent supporting teeth of the bridge necessitating additional treatment of those teeth, possibly extraction, and replacement of a new bridge, possibly involving more teeth than the original one. This happens usually due to poor home care, failure to maintain regular dental check ups, but the very nature of the bridge also might make it more difficult to keep the area clean, predisposing to food lodgement and damage. Generally, given good home care, regular dental check ups, a bridge should last 10 to 15 years.
