Hi I am 35 years old. I am working in Saudi Arabia, Construction field. Since 4 days I am suffering from back pain that is near both the kidneys. Pain is not at the spinal cord, when I am sitting I feel Pain if I stand no pain also if I walk no pain but standing for long time I am feeling strained. I feel to lie down and take rest. Please give me suggestions what to do and now I can give one clew that is when we effected from fever body we feel body pains, now I am feeling the same pain on back of me. Please suggest the name of tablet or Need to do any thing. Thank and regards. .

Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way Take CALDIKIND PLUS 1 tab daily for 10days Paracetamol 250mg TDS x 3 days Contact me after that. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. It may have to be further investigated.

Had a stiff neck a week ago. But the same gets aggravated mainly on my right shoulder while sleeping on my left side. After waking up its much better only some discomfort remains there. Not taken any medication. Generally stiff neck does not take so much time. Why is there pain onky while sleeping on my left side.

1. Take one tablet of crocin pain relief sos after food upto a maximum of 3 tablets daily 2. Apply volini gel twice daily 3. Give warm compress locally 4. Take rest if you have recurrent attack of neck pain a) take x ray/mri cervical spine to exclude spondylitis and consult orthopedic specialist b) sometimes it could be due to bad sitting posture while reading or working on computer. Adopt proper sitting posture, put neck rest, use soft pillow while sleeping c) do physio therapy and neck exercise after consulting physiotherapist.

Hello lybrate-user, good morning. Since you said that the pain is present after you met with an accident, please consult orthopaedic immediately for diagnosis and follow their instructions. At present please do hot water fomentation if there is no swelling at the injured area. If swelling present, do icing for 15 minutes by taking some ice cubes in towel and do small circular movements at affected area. Take rest.

Hello, you may be having headache because of stress/ refractory problems/ any ENT problem or may be Migraine Headache kindly follow advises given below: you can take(If No drug allergy) : 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) 2. Adequate sleep 6-8 hr in a day 3. Get check eyes for refractive error 4. We need to go for ENT evaluation to rule out sinusitis 5. Get BP checked 6. Regular physical exercise and meditation and yoga complete history of your headache for further management like duration, severity, aggravating factors/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis consult physician for further management.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Low Back Pain !

Allow me to quote the legendary Michael Jackson here, “YOU ARE NOT ALONE”. Low backache is one of the commonest ailments globally. Although it varies in intensity, almost all individuals at some point in their life or the other undergo low backache.

A very common question we face at our centre is, “Will I be able to resume weight training ever?” Justifiable apprehension as the last thing they (and we) want is a relapse.

The following are some precautions which can allow one to exercise safely post severe backache.

1) Doctor: Consult a medical doctor / orthopaedic surgeon before commencing your exercise programme.

2) Physiotherapist: Sit down for a detailed counselling and understanding of the problem with your Gym – Physio and set goals accordingly.

3) Start slow: Gradual loading is the key to a successful exercise programme.

4) Rehabilitative exercises first: Your trainer is advised to integrate rehabilitative exercises in your programme at the offset.

5) Begin with stabilization exercises: At Inch By Inch – The Body Temple, we have a specialized programme called the “Rebalance” programme which is a strategically modified core programme that ensures low back safety.

6) Train accessory muscles unrelated to the back: Although all the muscles of the body are affected with backache, post rehabilitation weight training for accessory muscles such as biceps, triceps etc can be commenced safely while ensuring position providing sufficient back rest during all exercises.

7) Ensure good form: Good form is crucial for all individuals with or without back pain. With previous episode of low backache, this becomes even more crucial.

8) Listen to your body: Respect the signs your body delivers to you. If you wake up in the morning with increased uneasiness, local muscle fatigue or slight pain, take the day off! But do not make it a habit!

I would like to examine you in detail & investigate. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid, vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Elder vit zc 1 tab od x10. Do knee ankle &foot & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that you are not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days

I am 36 years 6' 85 kg, Before six months I had sprain in my wrist due to playing badminton my wrist was swelled and unable to move frequently that time. Now situation is improved and no pain in normal situation but wrist is snapping when I move my wrist. And if when I play badminton now some stress n slightly pain come again in my wrist. Pls advice what the reason n suggest required diagnosis and treatment if necessary.

Hello Lybrate user Wrist muscles are quite weak and unable to bear load while playing badminton beacuse of change in position of wrist & hand. Do warm water exercises of wrist and strengthening exercise. Avoid jerky movements at wrist, apply gently muscle relaxant ointment/gel. Wear wrist band while working to provide support to joint. Exercises with advice of qualified physiotherapist only.

Most leg pain results from wear and tear, overuse, or injuries in joints or bones or in muscles, ligaments, tendons or other soft tissues. Leg pain can also be caused by blood clots, varicose veins or poor circulation. To relieve mild pain: stay off your leg as much as possible apply an ice pack or bag of frozen peas to the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day elevate your leg whenever you sit or lie down please go to a physiotherapist if: you have pain during or after walking you have swelling in both legs your pain gets worse your symptoms don't improve after a few days of home treatment you have painful varicose veins leg pain happens when your muscles are tired or dehydrated. Drink more water if you're prone to leg cramps. Also low blood levels of either calcium or magnesium directly cause cramps. Pleas check you calcium and magnesium levels.

Tiredness may be due to indigestion, low hb and low bp. You may take at present arnica 200 (homeo medicine) thrice a day five drops each time with water only one day. After two days give me the report.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Muscular fatigue may have caused by exercises. Pl limit exercises. Bath with hot water after gentle massage with Mahavishgarbh oil warmed a bit. Drink turmeric in hot milk twice a day. Avoid loss of semen by sex or masturbation for some time or increase your semen by herbs.

I am 78 and have a problem with my right knee. I can not afford a joint replacement. My both legs have developed black spots with severe itching. Blood tests are fine. Is there any cheaper solution? 8 years ago I had taken the magnetic treatment Cytotron but this too was not o much help. I am on thyronorm 100 mcg, Plavix and Ecosprin 75, I am allergic to egg and fish.
