Tk break between work and use a soft pillow for back support. Do stretching exercise of spine and legs heat fermentation with rest time. Tk a stool and keep your leg straight in sitting time.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Backpain is associated with many conditions which needs to be evaluated. After evaluation a plan can be chalked out for your rehabilitation which involves medication, posture correction if needed and use of physical therapy also. Till then avoid forward bending, lifting weight, and sitting for prolonged intervals.

I am 38 years old man having back pain lasting for 20 days from mild to severe in left hip side. In consultation to orthopedic surgeon and after MRI one doctor told me the disease sciatica and another its slip disc. This might be because of calcium deficiency hence ask her to take diet rich in calcium like milk, it products, bananas, white of an egg etc. so that the leg pains will get decreased gradually.

Can any Dr suggest me home exercise for cervical problem which causes me pain at right hand fingers.

It seems like there might be some nerve compression due to which you have pain in fingers, there is some isometric exercises you can do at home like placing palm of your hand on forehead and pressing it against your hand same on left and right arround back portion of cheeks and back on f your head you might need some mannual traction too to relive the pain in your fingers too.

I am 22 yrs old and I feel back pain when I try to do some hard work. What should I do?

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. I got stitches on my left knee. I got them removed today. Bt when I folded my knee the wound opened up a bit. Bt did not bleed and there was no pain. The duty doctor just dressed up my wound and said avoid folding movement it will heal up. Will it really heal up or will I get stitches again?

usually we keep the stiches for 2 weeks. Over any joints. Have you kept it for that duration. Ok now that stiches are out. You have to wait and bending definitely increases the gapping. Redoing the suturing is laborious. Wait for it to heal. But minimise bending so that scarring can be minimal.

Yes this could be due to over exertion - hence please reduce/avoid doing exercise which involves muscles of calf. Take rest for some days Do hot and cold compresses alternately to relieve pain. Take Mag phos 6x - thrice daily 4 tabs each time for next 7-10 days Drink a glass of mixed fruit juice daily.

Dear, if you have neuro problem in your left leg then see your neuro physician and get the lumbar mri done to rule out any nerve complications. Till then do back stretching and strengthening exercise. Avoid sitting for long in single position. Take care.
