Diminition of vision without any pathology is known as amblyopia & in common language called lazy eye. Amblyopic eye can only be treated upto 10 years with the help of occlusion &,pleoptic treatment which is not available every where, you will have consult eye hospital with well equipped orthopedics & pleoptic department with well trained paramedical staff. ParentsĀ  with amblyopic child will have to search such hospital .I have experience of minimum 2000 children getting 6/6 or 6/9 from less than 6/60 vision but diagnosis of amblyopia before 10 years is must because there is not much improvement even after dedicated pleoptic for 2-3 months. Lazy eye ultimately to divergent squint because it takes anatomical position, our eyes are straight because vision keeps eye straight. Eyes with no Vision or very less vision will always lead to divergent squint, so eyes with divergent squint even after squint surgery again results into divergent squint. Most important point to note here is if amblyopic child vision is restored normal with the help of pleoptic treatment & the operated for Squint surgery it will remain straight & have binocular single Vision through out life & child will never face the problem of divergent squint again in life. You should contact me personally ,I will guide you.

I m azhar I have to ask about the health of my eyes My eyes are too weak how can I would increase my eyes power.

I m azhar I have to ask about the health of my eyes
My eyes are too weak how can I would increase my eyes power.
There are multiple causes responsible for diminution/ blurring of vision. Let me enumerate them in brief for you: (1) refractive error. This is one of the commonest reasons responsible. Minus or plus number in one eye or both eyes may be responsible for weak/ blurred vision. The solution for this is glasses/ contact lens/ refractive surgery (if applicable). It should be checked by a trained optometrist/ ophthalmologist and proper glasses should be prescribed. (2) cornea related problem: injury, degeneration, infections or inflammation occurring on the cornea tend to causes loss of transparency and lead to weakening of vision. These should be assessed preferably by a cornea specialist and treated appropriately. (3) cataract in the lens of the eye: this usually occurs with increasing age but in some cases may occur at a younger age. There are multiple systemic factors responsible (eg. Diabetes, increased cholesterol levels, etc) injury to the eye may also cause cataract. This should be assessed and treated appropriately by a cataract specialist. (4) retina/ vitreous problems: these occur due to a variety of reasons such as high minus numbers, diabetes, trauma, etc. These issues are best assessed and treated by a retina specialist. There are good quality surgical options available for the same. (5) optic nerve related problems: these may occur due to raised eye pressure (glaucoma), or occur in association with certain conditions related to the brain and the blood vessels. These are best assessed by a retina/ glaucoma specialist (whichever applicable). (6) neurological problems: certain problems in the brain and the central nervous system tend to cause weakening/ blurring of vision. These are best assessed by an eye specialist in concordance with a neurologist and a neurosurgeon if required. Thus, based on the category you fall under, it would be necessary to take appropriate help and treatment. If you have a high refractive error (power of glass) you could consider undergoing refractive surgery. Operations done to remove the refractive error (power) of the eyes are known as refractive surgery (lasik). There are certain basic criteria that most patients need to fulfill before they can safely undergo refractive surgery. To enumerate, they are: (1) stability of refraction: the power of the eyes should have become stable for a period of 1.5 years minimum without any change. (2) curvature of the cornea should be tested by a technique which is known as topography. (3) thickness of the cornea should be measured by a test known as pachymetry. The minimum thickness required is 550 microns. (4) dilated retina evaluation: this is one of the most important tests that should be performed by a trained retina specialist. This test helps in detection of any offensive lesion on the central or peripheral retina. In case of any retinal abnormality, these should be treated before undergoing the surgery for number reduction. (5) there should be no pre-existent corneal abnormality. (example: corneal scar, opacity, defect, etc.) another important suggestion is that whenever you go for the assessment (the above mentioned tests), you should discontinue the use of contact lenses at least 4 weeks prior to the assessment. The reason for this being that use of contact lens temporarily alters the contour of the cornea. It takes around 3-4 weeks for the restoration of the original corneal contour after removal of the contact lens. Another important point is that you, as a patient, should be compliant to put post operative medication in your eyes for at least 2 months. There is bound to be some discomfort, watering, foreign body sensation, pain after the surgery in most cases-you should be ready to tolerate that. A leave from work for 7-10 days after the surgery should be generally sufficient. Last but not the least, you should set realistic expectations from this surgery. Though extremely rare, there is a remote possibility that the surgery may need to be repeated. Also, the need for subsequent treatment for the eye may be required. Thus, you should be compliant enough to trust and follow your eye specialist. In case you have any other queries, feel free to contact me via the audio/ video facility offered by lybrate. Hope my suggestions help you, take care,

Hello in eye we have 2 segments: anterior and posterior. In posterior segment we have a gel called vitreous this vitreous is made of collagen fibres. In some people, these collagen fibres gets meshed up and they start floating in vitreous gel when light enters the eye, these meshed collagen fibres cast a shadow on retina which is seen as floaters by patient floaters are due to vitreous (gel in eye) liquifaction there is no treatment for this just avoid seeing them these are entirely normal consult ophthalmologist if these suddenly increase in number This is a provisional diagnosis. Consult ophthalmologist for detailed examination.

Your black dot can be a floater. It is harmless and very common. They represent tiny clumps of dead cells which originally come from the layers of tissue at the back of the eye and 'float' about in the fluid in the centre of the eyeball itself. As time passes you will get used to them and hardly notice them. Do consult a opthalmologist for confirmation and to rule out any other pathology.

Contact lens requires a lot of care and are expensive stuff. Moreover you must have to be very careful in placing and taking out contact lens from eyes. For those person who are into field jobs or drive 2 wheelers, contact lens are not recommended as dust particles can damage lens thus damaging eyes. But now a days contact lens is a common practise and if you can handle it with care then you can opt for lenses but always wear good quality daily wear disposable contact lenss of a good company like PURE VISION.

MBBS, MD - Anaesthesiology, FIPM, Fellowship in palliative medicine, certificate in interventional pain management

Daily morning I have facing headache. And eyes getting become red colour please give solution.
Early morning headache can be due to 1. Migraine headache 2. Tension type 3. Cluster headache 4. Sleep apnea 5. Severe hypertension 6. Brain tumor. You could be suffering from cluster headache as you have redness of eyes with headache. Characteristics of cluster headache are: 1. Severe unilateral headache around the eyes. 2. Headache lasts for 15 to 180 minutes. 3. There is redness or watering of eyes/ nose, eyelid swelling, severe restlessness or agitation. 4 headache can occur once every alternate day to 8 per day. This is just a brief outline. In such headache conventional painkillers are not generally effective and specific medicines are to be taken to prevent headache. Most patients get relief by taking oxygen inhalation. Get mri scan of brain done, get a health check up done, consult a pain specialist. Get treatment according to cause of your headache.

Hello there are many causes for redness of eyes mainly allergy, infection, inflammation and dry eyes etc. 1. Redness + itching: allergy 2. Redness + pain + watering + decreased vision: infection 3. Redness + pain: inflammation 4. Redness foreign body sensation: dryness if there is only redness then it is normal as slight exposure to dust, temperature or air or eyes may be red in morning. Stress may also cause redness. I usually do not treat when there is only redness, you can 1. Blink a lot 2. Wash eyes with fresh water 3. Cold compresses 4. Use lubricating eye drop like flogel these measures will help to keep your eyes healthy but it will not have any effect on redness (treating general redness alone is not necessary also) having said that you should consult local ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment.

Pardon me sir, I can't say much about honey and and its effect but yes if you are diagosed with glaucoma you must start on antiglaucoma medication. Do undergo, baseline tests like hfa and oct and workup that includes gonio and if your iop is in low teens diurnal iop record may be required. Earlier you start, its better. Thank you.
