My father has O.A. Knee jts - both. Whenever he gets pain, he goes to physio and take diathermy. He gets relief, again after a month or two, he gets pain, again he goes to physio. Treatment repeats. Tell me are there any side effects of short wawe diathermy?

Dear lybrate-user, regular exercise is required for all knee related problem, muscle strength is very important when it come to the stabily of the knee. I guess he will not be able to bend his knee to the full range. But one he starts to do strengthen, he can feel the difference.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and do Physiotherapy treatment till recovery and Take tablet folvite 5mg once a day and tablet vitaminD (60000iu) once a week for six months

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Hello lybrate user first you have to check your sr. Calcium level, ra factor and aso titer test. Joint pain and bone weakness are due to either calcium deficiency, rheumatoid arthritis or osteo arthritis. By checking all above test you will find reason of your complaint and take treatment accordingly.

Hi, I am suffering with muscle weakness from last more 10 years I came to know through one Herbal doctor due to stress my nerves got suppressed & blood flow was very weak through nerves for entire body mainly right side,, if I walk for 10 min I feel very weak, my eyes get immediately effected very weak, if I sleep for 10 min then ill feel better otherwise the whole day ill be sick & my erections was low, knee pains please suggest me remedy and prescribe some medicines. Hi, After listening to your problem, I would suggest you to get yourself properly investigated to know the root cause of your problem. Better option is to visit a doctor for proper clinical examination first. Otherwise prescribing medication in such a chronic illness without proper diagnosis is not right. Take care.

A positive test means HLA-B27 is present. It suggests a greater-than-average risk for developing or having certain autoimmune disorders. An autoimmune disorder is a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue. An abnormal result may be caused by: ankylosing spondilylitis Arthritis related to crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis Psoriatic arthritis (arthritis associated with psoriasis) reactice arthritis or Reiter's syndrome Sacroiliitis (inflammation of the sacroiliac joint) uveitis If there are symptoms or signs of an autoimmune disease, a positive HLA-B27 test may confirm the diagnosis. However, HLA-B27 is normally found in a small number of Caucasians and does not always mean you have a disease. you can take tab. combiflaim sos.

Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and mannual therapy will help in painfree movement.
