Homeopath, Ludhiana
Sir, I am 22 years old, I got white colour patches on my lip and hands, can you please give me suggestion to stop tha...
White spots on can occur due to a number of reasons, of which conditions can be mild or severe. The condition can be mild or severe, and generally covers the majority of the skin on a particular area of the body. They may also cause irritation or itching. The occurrence of whites on the face can be extremely distressing. People affected with this problem should obtain medical advice to diagnose what is causing the condition and the suitable treatment. Causes of White Spots White spots on the face occur for various reasons. Understanding some of these reasons may be beneficial in treating the condition. Furthermore, understanding the cause can also help people avoid certain circumstances that increase the risk. 1. Tinea Versicolor This is a chronic fungal infection of the skin. Also known as pityriasisversicolor, this fungus causes discolored patches on the skin as it interferes with the normal pigmentation. The color of the patches may be darker or lighter than the surrounding skin and most often, affects the back and trunk of adolescent males. Exposure to sunlight, hot, humid weather, oily skin and excessive sweating may aggravate the condition. 2. Vitiligo This is a skin condition that results in the loss of melanocyte pigmentation of the skin. This results in white patches that feel as if it is part of the skin. The cause of vitiligo is unclear although it is believed to be an autoimmune disease. However, mild trauma to any area of the skin including the face can also result in the development of vitiligo. Vitiligo can affect the face, hands and feet, elbows and genital area. 3. Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis White spots on the face may also be due to Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis, a skin condition resulting in 2 to 5 mm flat, white spots commonly found on the shins and forearms. This skin condition mostly affects fair skinned people, although it may occur in dark skinned individuals too. The white spots may occur more commonly in people over the age of 40. 4. Pityriasis Alba This skin condition is common in children aged 6 to 12. It is a rash that appears on the face, neck and arms, and is not easily differentiated between normal skin. The rash may be covered with skin flakes resembling light dust. The cause of Pityriasis Alba is not known and is often considered as a form of eczema. This condition is often mistaken with vitiligo. However, while vitiligo has a distinct border, Pityriasis Alba does not. Treatments for White Spots on Face The medical treatment for white spots depends entirely on the root cause that underlies the condition. There are certain things that you can try to accelerate the process of treatment . Some of these mentioned treatments are professional while others are home remedies. Home Remedies .  For treating vitiligo, consumption of ginger juice is recommended as it promotes blood flow. neem seed oil applied to the affected area will also bring beneficial results.  Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis may not require treatment as it is harmless. However, topical steroids and retinoids may help treat the condition.  Treatment for Pityriasis Alba may not be necessary although the application of a moisturizer or hydrocortisone creams may help the disappearance of these patches.  Washing the face with mild soaps and exfoliating the skin at least twice a week with a honey, rice, turmeric and sandalwood powder paste can treat Tinea Versicolor. So identify your problem of white spots with the help of your local doctor so that appropriate treatment is given or send me your picture depicting those white spot along with the complete hitory of your spots,so that I am clear in making a diagnosis.

How to get rid of dark circles and unwanted tan on skin please suggest me a good sought of prescription?
Hi. Dark circles can be temporary (means happens after any recent or chronic diseases or underlying medical condition, allergies, sinus infections and nasal congestions, lower eyelid laxity, fluid retention, hormonal imbalances, hyperpigmentation, aging, sun-exposure, insufficient sleep, worm-infestation, nutritional deificiency, working long hrs. on computer, lack of rest, stress/ tension, etc.) which can be improved by fixing the underlying cause or the problem or can be inherited from your parent's genes which can't be treated or cured! Management: Eat healthy and on time. Avoid junk. Drink plenty of water (as dehydration can cause dull or patchy skin). Sleep well. Wear anti-glare spectacles while working on computer. The area under your eyes has very sensitive skin, so never use chemical bleach. Reduce your stress/ tension through yoga, meditation or any other exercises (it not only improves your blood circulation, but also reduces the production of stress hormones by the body as well as increases happy hormones in the body). Use sunglasses regularly when you are in the sun and not to forget to apply a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare Sunscreen liberally, 20-30 minutes before stepping out in the sun and apply the same again after 3-4 hours if you have exposure to sunlight for long hours. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Cina 1M/ one dose daily at night for 10 days. Schwabe's Alfalafa Tonic/ 1 tsp thrice a day daily for 20 days and revert me back about the condition. Apply Bakson's Under Eye Cream twice daily (in morning and at night) and Medicynth's Whitch Hazel cream on your whole face - in morning and at night daily.

Effects of Aging on Skin

Effects of Aging on Skin

Our skin undergoes certain changes with age. A lifetime of exposure to the sun, habits such as diet and smoking leads to changes in our skin slowly, as we age. As we get older, the skin does not stay as smooth and firm like before. It may also become drier, thinner and more fragile. As we age, the skin also becomes more prone to bruises, which is a result of a smaller amount support around the walls of blood vessels.

Major changes that can be observed in the skin due to ageing are as follows:

  1. The skin turns rough
  2. The skin develops lesions like benign tumors
  3. The skin becomes slack due to the loss of elastic tissues like elastin and collagen and tends to hang loosely
  4. The skin gets more transparent with age, which is caused as a result of the epidermis thinning down
  5. The skin slowly turns fragile. This occurs due to flattening of the area where the epidermis and dermis meet

Photoaging: Over time, the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun cause damage to fibers in the skin known as elastin. Due to the breakdown of the elastin fibers, the skin tends to sag and stretch. The ability to snap back after stretching is lost. The skin gets bruised and tears up very easily and bruises require a longer time to heal. Sun damage shows itself with ageing.

Subcutaneous changes:
These are the changes, which occur below the surface of the skin because of aging. They include the following:

  1. Fat is lost under the surface of the skin on the cheeks, chin, nose, eyes (know about to maintain eye health) and temples. This causes loosening of the skin, giving it a bony appearance with sunken eyes.
  2. Bone loss occurs after attaining the age of sixty, especially around the mouth and chin region. Puckering of the skin in the mouth is indicated.
  3. Cartilage loss may occur on the nose. This causes the nasal tip to droop down and the bony structure of the nose gets accentuated.

Other changes: Other factors such as gravity, sleeping position and facial movements also cause changes in our skin. When skin elasticity is lost, the eyebrows and eyelids may droop due to gravity. Loosening and fullness of skin is observed under the jaw, cheeks and earlobes. Facial movement lines become prominent with old age and lines appear on the forehead, temples, cheeks and at the root of the nose.

As we become old, several changes in the surface of our skin, as well as beneath the skin are likely. This is natural and occurs in every person. However, proper skin care should be taken, irrespective of your age.

Hello, there can be two reasons - you are not cleaning the area properly while having bath. -excessive dead skin cells to accumulate in skin pores. -you have a very dry skin. You need to remove them by a scrub, that will open pores and you can clean the area. Take bath with a cream based body wash example shea butter body wash or cocoa butter body wash. Use warm water for bath. Hygiene is cause in the area and it can certainly be cleared. Eat healthy, to keep your skin hydrated.

You can use melaglow plus twice daily. Also, protect eyes with a sunshade. Avoid scrubbing your face. Do not steam or sauna. If you swim, use a sunscreen prior to it and after. Avoid face cosmetics for the time being. You can press powder onto your sunscreen if at all you want to use a cosmetic. Drink two litres of water everyday. Pick up carrots, papaya, pumpkin, black grapes to have everyday. These contain important antioxidants and phytonutrients which vil soften your skin. Do not stress over anything. You can use this do it yourself mask at home which vil give you an instant glow. Mix 1 tbsp puree each of papaya and carrot with 1 tbsp of curd and 1 tbsp of aloe vera. Apply it across your face or dull body part for ten to fifteen minutes and wash it off without soap.

LHR(Laser Hair Reduction) is absolutely safe and the most acceptable method of hair reduction. Apart from mild redness post-laser which goes away with ice-pack application there are really no side effects with LHR, if done by a well trained/experienced expert. Normally it is advisable to take 6 sittings after an interval of approximately 4-8 weeks between sittings (interval actually depends on hair re-growth, means whenever you have a re-growth, you go for your next sitting). After 4-6 sittings you will achieve a good reduction which can be followed by 2-3 maintenance sittings once in year or year and a half. It is close to permanent hair reduction. regards

Homeopath, Faridabad
How to get fair n glow face and skin and how to grow height naturally I'm to short suffering alot.
Hi, There is an old-age saying - “Be happy and make others happy!” Follow this funda in your life and you will see the difference! Management: Include healthy, nutritious food, doing daily yoga or some kind of exercises. All these automatically reflects glow on your face. Yes, the colour which is inherited from your parents/ ancestors, cannot be changed, but you can try to get glow on your face! Daily Regime: Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e. Cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4 hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. Lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon, orange, gooseberry, etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, can notaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: Use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel or Bakson’s Fairness cream daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this 2-3 times a day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Make a paste of 'Kasturi Manjal' (wild turmeric) with rose petals, saffron and raw milk which is very effective. For height: As height can be gained till 21 yrs. Of age in males and 18 yrs. In females, so there are 2 yrs. More left to grow further! Medication: Start taking homoeopathic medicines which are safe to take without any side-effects - Bakson's Hite-Aid and Five Phos. - both thrice daily and Thuja 1M/ one dose once a week - take them for 4 months. Management: Consume a balanced diet. A person will look a lot shorter when having a plump body. Not only that, being fit by eating right will make you taller and feel better! Eat plenty of lean protein. Lean protein, such as white poultry meat, fish, soy, and dairy, helps promote muscle growth and healthy bones. Simple carbohydrates such as pizza, cakes, sweets, and soda, are the stuff to stay away from. Eat plenty of calcium. Calcium, found in leafy green vegetables such as spinach and kale, and in dairy (yogurt and milk), helps promote healthy bones. Get enough zinc. Studies, although they have been inconclusive so far, point to a possible link between zinc deficiencies and stunted growth in boys. Good sources of zinc include oysters, wheat germ, pumpkin and squash seeds, lamb, peanuts, and crab. Get enough vitamin D. Vitamin D promotes bone and muscle growth in children, and a deficiency has been shown to stunt growth and cause weight gain in teenage girls. Vitamin D can be found in fish, alfalfa, or mushrooms commonly. 60% to 80% of your height is determined by genes! Apart from these: -Exercise throughout the teen years and in puberty. Get out and about and work your muscles for at least 30 minutes each day. Join a gym, join a sports team, if nothing else, walk around. Do get indulge in stretch exercises, and sports like basketball, volleyball. -Sleeping is the time when your body grows, Get between 9 and 11 hours of sleep per night if you're a preteen or still younger than 20. -Avoid any bad habit like smoking which affects the height, also avoid anabolic steroids which inhibit bone growth in young children and teens. -Always stand straight instead of hunching your back. (You can probably increase your height by a few inches with diet and lifestyle changes, especially if you are still in your teens or even your early 20s (for boys).) Get back to me after 4 months for further guidance. All the Best!

What is the size of black spots? if the are age spots then they are harmless and don't need treatment. For cosmetic reasons, age spots can be lightened with skin-bleaching products or removed using laser. However, preventing age spots by avoiding the sun and using sunscreen may be the easiest way to maintain your skin's youthful appearance. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Apple is a miracle fruit for the skin. The alpha hydroxy acids or AHA’s present in apples improves skin color and elasticity of the skin.Soak peeled apple slices in milk for 20 minutes and then blend to form a creamy paste.Place in the freezer for 10 minutes, and then mix a tsp of lemon juice, apply all over your face and neck.Rinse off after 15 minutes with cool water and massage an ice cube. The skin looks baby soft, smooth with a rosy white glow.Follow this for a week to get fair skin naturally. or All the natural ingredients (Tretinoin, Hydroquinone and Cortisone) inlcuded in Melamet have only one goal: to improve your skin tone. Tretinoin helps prevent and treat acne and wrinkles by peeling off dead skin cells. Hydroquinone is the skin lightener agent in this equation that improves the overall tone of your skin. Cortisone is an anti-allergy ingredient that reduces inflammation and/or itching.' How to Use: Use the Melamet Cream just before bedtime. Wash it off in the morning, and apply some sunscreen if you intend to go outdoors. Failure to do so will cause significant damage and even result in your skin turning black.
