KNEE PAIN- HOW TO TAKE CARE

Wear and tear of body is inevitable. And joints are
the worst affected as we age, out of which the knees rule.
 
A popping sound with pain in the knee, swelling and inability to
put weight on the leg indicate a knee sprain or a tear. Fractures,
dislocations, cartilage injuries,arthritic changes or bursitis are
painful enough. But how to avoid knee injuries and pain? Knee pain
can improve with some good body mechanics like change in movement,
ergonomics, exercise and care.
 
1. Never ignore pain. Pain is one of the first warning signs that
something is amiss. After a few days of home treatment if the knee
pain worsens or does not improve it is time to call the doctor!
 
2. Get rest. Rest is a must if you are a very physically active
person. And all the more so if you are above 30.
 
3. Weight control is mandatory if your knees hurt. Being overweight
increases your chances of knee pain especially the arthritic one as
the excess load causes the degeneration of the cartilage. You can
try walking or a stationary bike for exercise without traumatising
the joints.
 
4. Too much of physical activity including strenuous exercises can
cost you your knees. Straining the body on the pretext of
weight loss, a sudden increase in the duration of the activity or a
rapid increase in the intensity are unwise. Always warm up with
stretches and cool down adequately.
 
5. If you have duck feet (walking with feet turned out) you are
more susceptible to knee pain.
 
6. Be careful while lifting weights as they are only bad for your
back but also for your knees. Bend carefully putting the knees back
and heels down. Put the weight on your muscles and off your knees.
 
7. Discard hard shoes but use soft breathing flexible shoes
recommended for the desired activity. 
 
8. Know that some cholesterol lowering drugs, antacids and the like
may cause knee pain.
 
Knee injuries need not remain forever. Time and rest can heal most
of them and not often do they call for surgeries.

Hi. I am facing the problem of pain on my back of the neck from last 3 years. And regularly I am having pain on my neck. And from last 3 weeks I am having pain on my neck which pains so badly. My Dr. Not sure about the problem. Please help me and do let me knew about the problem. It hurts me so badly.

It might be due to regularly keep your neck in one position for long time. Like usually most people keep their head down looking into their mobile phones, if it is so then change your habits and give rest to your neck.

Most problems in shoulder is because of shoulder arthritis. You do fasting and postprandial sugar and inform.

Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day...take pranacharya vatari syrup and capsule twice a day...And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day...

Dear, you have mentioned that ligament injury but which grade? if it is grade 1 and 2 you can go for physiotherapy treatment where you can take ultrasound and ift therapy and exercises and if its grade 3 you have to go for arthroscopic repair surgery. But after that also you have to do physiotherapy treatment.

wash your face 3 to 5 times a day..keep it oil free. blockage of sebaceous glands gives off pimples. use diet rich in fruits and. vegetables. apply... erythromycin lotion on affected area.

First of all you need to reduce your weight. Visit your nearest physiotherapist and take treatment - ift, us, swd for next 10 days regularly followed by back strengthening exercises. Don't bent forward, don't lift heavy weight, do hot fomentation, sit straight with proper support, sleep on hard bed.

In had an accident a year ago injuring my ankles ligament (rupture. It recovered within 21 days but soon I developed another rupture at the same place due to my fault. And now it's been an year of recovering and accident I still at times get pains in the same place.

Hello Lybrate user. Seems like you have developed ankle instability .first time when you had ankle sprained .u haven't done proper training or rehab of those muscle which are responsible to prevent or stop going ankle in that position which leads to lateral ankle sprain. I would suggest to apply ice packs, do taping in order to stable and heal injured ligaments .once the pain subsided do strengthening exercise to ankle muscle and then proprioception training .this will prevent future reoccurrence. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days.
