What is the reason heart strokes coming in young age below 30 when we need cardiac checkups.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
What is the reason heart strokes coming in young age below 30 when we need cardiac checkups.
Stroke is blockage of blood supply to brain, similar to a heart attack when blood vessels supplying blood to the heart get blocked. Reasons are same ,so are the ways to prevent.Stop smoking/exposure to pollution, less of bad fats like transfats and some good fats like 5 gms of pure ghee/butter, daily exercise, keeping sugar & cholesterol under control, taking less stress, meditation and yoga and Not Taking Everything to Heart. Cholesterol related plaque is the cause of blocks in vessels and it is advisable Not to give Pizzas/Burgers/junk food to kids even , take more green vegetables and seasonal fruits. Cholesterol + blood sugar should be checked 20 on wards at least once a year , if high then diet control is the best medicine. You have written that you have had a cardiac arrest in the past and you are only 30! you suffered from gastric ulcers also which are no longer affecting you , there must be some proof like gastroscopy to reassure you about No ulcers in the stomach. Both of these illnesses are due to stress and wrong eating habits , I am sure by now you are counselled well about Diet and relaxation , If not get back here for more help.

Dear lybrate user. There are no short cuts. Physical exercise is the key. Quit smoking and alcohol consumption, cut sugar intake, to bring down total cholesterol, triglycerides etc you have to increase good cholesterol. Good cholesterol is available in plums, grapes, purple cabbage, eggplant, and raspberries to your diet. Plus eating more fruits and veggies (in addition to whole grains) will increase your fiber, which has been shown to help control overall cholesterol levels. Take care.

Is drinking too much milk tea daily (6-7 cups) for heart patient and brain clot patient is bad?

PGP In Diabetologist, Fellowship in non-invasive Cardiology, MD - Medicine, MBBS
Endocrinologist, Delhi
Is drinking too much milk tea daily (6-7 cups) for heart patient and brain clot patient is bad?
this is a difficult question to answer. just follow that much of anything is bad. Try to limit your tea intake. though a large metanalysis found that there was 11% reduction in heart disease with 3 cups of tea intake. but the results were not uniform and varied with geographical area. In fact, there was higher mortality in UK and Australia with tea consumption. but, tea has antioxidants and helps us in destressing for sure.

Hi Dear all
What about pacemaker? For heart Is there any alternative solutions for pacemaker? Case: low heart beat.
Pacemaker is needed when the electrical stimulation for heartbeat is lost or reduced below normal (to dangerous level. And a cardiology evaluation is the ultimate) and ther is no other option but keep a pacemaker.

too much cholesterol in the blood can lead to cardiovascular disease. What you eat has a direct impact on your cholesterol level. In fact, a diet rich in fiber and other cholesterol-lowering foods may help lower cholesterol as much as statin medication for some people. Working with a registered dietitian and doctor is the key to develop and maintain a successful health program to manage it. I will inform you on how to make diet, lifestyle changes, make you understand instructions for taking medication because it won't work if you don't take it as directed. Consult privately for a holistic dietary therapy to solve your problems.

Diet for a patient of heart problem - should include vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Avoid high-fat foods eg red meat, cheese and high-sodium foods (such as canned or processed foods). When your bp goes down you can take coffee. And go for test to confirm hypotension. Test. Echo. Blood pressure is a measurement of the pressure in your arteries during the active and resting phases of each heartbeat. Here's what the numbers mean: systolic pressure. The first (top) number in a blood pressure reading, this is the amount of pressure your heart generates when pumping blood through your arteries to the rest of your body. Diastolic pressure. The second (bottom) number in a blood pressure reading, this refers to the amount of pressure in your arteries when your heart is at rest between beats. Current guidelines identify normal blood pressure as lower than 120/80 mm hg.

High cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain.garlic,. Take anti cholesterol medicines .
