Hi, I am suffering from ulcerative colitis disease is there any permanent remedy? What should be my food habits?
Hello, The only permanent remedy for ùlcerative colitis is total colon removal through surgery. With medication the problem can be controlled and not everyone requires colon removal. There are no specific dietary restrictions. Avoid outside food. During an acute attack milk should be avoided.

Two nos. Of Gall stones of 2 mm size were found in abdomen scanning. Is treatment available? If yes, prescribe medicine and dosage.
Hello, treatment of gall stones depends on presence or absence of pain. If they are causing pain, surgery is the treatment of choice. Medical treatment is not effective. Size and number of stones is not a criterion for treatment.

I am having a burning sensation on both sides of upper abdomen where the rib cage ends. Rabeprazole is not giving much relief. It started after I took about 50 tablets of iron tablets. Please advise.
Iron tablets cause stomach irritation. Avoid spicy food, carbonated beverages. Take plenty of fluids. Smoking, alcohol intake also worsen acidity.

I have single gallstone 15 mm silent. L have 2 children. I want to conceive. Is it safe to get pregnant without removing gall bladder stone.
Hello, gall stones without any symptoms do not require surgery irrespective of stone size. But if you had even a single episode of pain (related to gall stone) in the past, undergoing a surgery is better. Regards.

I am a 24 years old, and working in a desk job. From few months I am unable to digest food properly and after every meal, I get hundreds of burp and sometimes vomiting as well. Pls suggest which physician shall I consult and is this any kind of disease?
Hello, I understand your concerns. Usually when you eat in a hurry, you tend to swallow air with food. Which causes burping. Avoid excess tea, coffee and carbonated beverages. Some foods like pulses, beans, cabbage, cauliflower produce excessive gas in intestines. Vomiting is a cause of concern. I recommend you to meet a gastroenterologist for evaluation. Smoking and alcohol intake also worsen stomach problems. Regards.

Sir, I have a anal fissure. I tried lots of Medicine for it but some of them work temporarily. Now I am using soframycin cream from last 3 days. Its a skin cream. So can we apply skin cream on anal fissure?
Hello, healing of anal fissure is delayed due to reasons like -bacterial infection from exposure to rascal matter. -spasm of anal sphincter muscles causing delay in healing. Have you tried sitz bath? sitz bath with potassium permanganate or betadine solution twice a day is very helpful in healing. Soframycin is an antibacterial ointment and there is no harm in using it. You may require ointment to release sphincter spasm. Meet a surgeon. Sphincter release surgeries are useful in refractory cases.
