I have been seeing Doctor Prasad from past 15 years for various ailments of me and my family. I was always very impressed with his right diagnosis and the ability to make patients relax. He always explained the facts and used to advise us with right options. We are so impressed with his capability that we end up reaching to him even if the ailment is not in his specialized area, as we are sure he would guide us to the related specialty doctor as required. Dr. Prasad has an exceptional sense of responsibility and he always followed up on his treatment to make sure we are responding properly. My personal experience with him when my mom was taken ill with intestinal TB related problem is overwhelming and we will always be grateful for his help.

Total treatment for tb is usually 6 to 9 months. Diabetics may require longer treatment. Joint pains might be due to other causes as well as drugs. Uric acid, liver enzymes may be elevated. Good control of diabetes is very important for quick recovery. The patient requires clinical exam.

Madam lybrate-user cough results in strain on your rib muscles which pain. Causes for cough could be cold, lung. Infection or gastric reflux of stomach acid due to spicy foods etc. If it is more than two weeks think of major infections or allergy of throat or sinuses or lungs. Please consult a physician. What medications are best for the treatment of asthma? What are their side effects?

M.D - Respiratory medicine

Ask Free Question
Dear lybrate-user best medications are by inhaler since they're in minute microgram doses. How long and how much is best determined by a pulmonologists after methodical assessment by clinical, x-ray and spirometry. Two types are ideally used bythe international guidelines. One which controls the disease in long term while the other relieves the symptom. Medicines that control are very important and symptom reliever is required only when symptoms severe. Combination inhalers contain both. Most patients think they are habit forming which is incorrect. Chronic asthma impairs our lifestyle and efficiency at work. Control and prevent asthma should be the goal. Very few side effects such as tremor of hands, and fast heart rate happen when taken in higher doses or in tablet or syrup or injection.

He was treated by doctor as per clinical exam. The widely recommended period is six months by world health organisation. If cough and fever recur meet your doctor. Repeat mantoux test does not reflect progress or worsening except special circum stances such as hiv or diabetes or cancer. Many in our country are positive for mantoux because of bcg vaccination in childhood.

The common cause for allergy is housdustmite a common allergen in carpets, bedding, blanket, cobwebs. Road dust, pollens from trees, fungi on the dropped leaves, cosmetics and perfumes. Fish, prawn, shrimp are also rich in allergen. Any or many among the above may trigger. Cllosely observe and avoid them if you can. Vacuum your house, beds, curtains, blanket. Avoid woollen thick blankets which house the mite. Use instead the thermal blankets or allergen proof bedclothes which cost about rs 5000/-. Clean your ac equipment with vacuum. Avoid cold substances creams cakes cool drinks chocolate etc. Cool water and juices ok. Nothing straight from refrigerator shelves. Treat well. And prevent well. No shortcuts for it.

Dear sir it's common to have allergy in young age. You must undergo blood test for allergy and pulmonary function test known as spirometry to clearly diagnose, grade the severity, and plan long term treatment. Inhalers are safewhen used in proper doses. Similarly nose sprays are also useful. Xrays of nose and lungs are necessary to make diagnosis of the many lung diseases. Proper treatment of allergy is cheaper than the loss due to leave-taking from work. To sum up, your problem is most likely allergy.
