TRANSPOSITION OF GREAT ARTERIES
Transposition of arteries is a serious heart disorder, in which the two great arteries of the heart are reversed. It is a congenital disorder and the symptoms become visible right after birth. It changes the direction of the flow of blood, which results in the circulation of poorly oxygenated blood throughout the body. The common symptoms include blueness of skin, shortness of breath, clubbing of toes and poor feeding. In this condition, blood from the body returns to the heart and goes back to the body without effectively absorbing oxygen from the lungs.
