Suntan is the process of getting the skin darkened mostly by exposure to sun. Suntan can also be acquired by artificial processes like from an artificial tanning lamp. HOW IS SUNTAN DIAGNOSED?
The earliest signs of sunburn are skin that looks flushed, is tender or painful, or gives off more heat than normal. Unfortunately, if the skin tone is medium to dark one may not notice any obvious physical signs until several hours later. It can take 6 - 48 hours for the full effects of sunburn to appear.

Treatment for Suntan are usually preventive, which means use sunscreen lotions or gels. Besides these, one would also be provided with soothing gels and calming creams that help to reduce the damage caused and also lighten the skin and reduce issues like pigmentation.
