Diagnosis of Sinusitis is based on your symptoms and clinical evaluation. Ear-nose-throat specialist may evaluate your symptoms and perform a complete physical examination. The doctor may feel or press and check for tenderness in the sinuses. Other tests like skull X-rays and nasal endoscopy help in confirming Sinusitis
HOW IS SINUSITIS TREATED?
Decongestant is usually prescribed for patients with mild infection. Antibiotics effectively treat the symptoms. The doctor also recommends warm compress, saline nose drops or decongestant drops. For patients prone to allergies, antihistamines are prescribed. In certain cases antifungal drugs and immunoglobulin are also given by the doctor.
