Measles also known as rubeola is a viral infection that affects the respiratory system. The symptoms which appear within 14 days after being exposed to the virus include cough, fever, sore throat, white spots in the mouth and red eyes. Patients would also develop a rash on their body which is the distinctive sign of this disorder.

Your general physician will confirm measles by a physical examination of the skin rash. A blood test may be performed for definitive diagnosis but it is not always needed.
