Irregular heartbeat is also referred to as arrhythmia. It is kind of a fluttering sound or noise that comes from the heart and it is almost like you have skipped a beat. However, in most cases, this is something temporary and happens because of shock, surprise, amazement or some other similar traits. Fluttering in the neck and chest areas along with palpitation are common symptoms.

The treatment for an irregular heartbeat depends on its cause. The patient may need to make lifestyle changes, like increasing activity level or changing the diet, for example limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking, etc. For serious abnormalities that don’t go away with behavioral changes or medication, the doctor may recommend:
• implant a pacemaker
• perform surgery to correct an abnormality
• try other procedures to correct the heart’s rhythm
