Deviated Septum is a condition in which the nasal septum is significantly off-center or crooked. A deviated septum causes breathing difficulties. Some people are born with a deviated septum, while others develop deviation due to an accident. Symptoms are:
• Nasal congestion
• Difficulty in breathing
• Recurrent sinus infection
• Postnasal drip
• Loud breathing or snoring

The diagnosis of this ailment is usually carried out by an ENT specialist or a doctor who specifically deals with ailments that are connected with the ears, nose and throat. A physical examination and imaging tests usually help in proper diagnosis.
HOW IS DEVIATED SEPTUM TREATED?
Symptomatic relief for a deviated septum may achieved through medication. In case the symptoms do not disappear through medical treatment, surgical treatment called septoplasty may be required. Septoplasty may be combined with rhinoplasty or sinus surgery
