Cerebral Infarction is a focal brain necrosis caused by complete and prolonged ischemia that affects all tissues, vessels, gila and neurons. Cerebral infarction can be atherothrombic or embolic and it occurs when a blood vessel that supplies a part of the brain becomes blocked or leakage occurs outside the blood vessel. Symptoms depend on the part of the brain that is affected. If the infarct is located in the primary motor cortex, then contralateral hemiparesis is said to occur. If it is in the brain stem then brainstem syndromes occur. Physical examination of the head area may reveal abnormal pupil dilation, lack of eye coordination and light reaction. If infarction occurs on the left side of the brain, speech will be slurred
