A General physician will examine your medical history and perform a complete physical examination. Other tests for confirming diagnosis are:

• X-ray to determine if a foreign object under the skin is affected
• Culture test
HOW IS CELLULITIS TREATED?
The treatment begins with resting the area that is affected. To reduce the discomfort, you should keep the part of your body slightly elevated. Over the counter medications such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen can be used to relieve pain and fever.
